Incoming - Charvel Guthrie Govan Signature HSH Carmelized Ash USA & Victory Sheriff 25 amp

I have been on a SuperStrat type guitar kick lately.
I have bought:

Ibanez Prestige AZ2402 - HH - my favorite of the bunch by far
Ibanez Prestige LB1 - HSS - more of a super telecaster - my 2nd favorite
Fender American Ultra II HSS - very modern sounding, but comes in 3rd
Fender Player II Modified HSS - not really a superstrat, a very vintage sounding strat which is a nice change of pace

What I have come to realize is I am a humbucker guy, that is why I own so many Les Pauls.
I also have a Gibson Custom Shop SG/Les Paul 61RI which is probably my best playing guitar of all of them with killer humbucker tones and a fast neck. It is Gibson superstrat.

So I started looking for HSH type guitars and narrowed it down to the Charvel or the Suhr Modern Plus.
The online shop is was buying from that I had a ton of rewards points did not have the Suhr in stock, so I went with the Charvel.

If I can get along with the thinner neck and the weird string change bridge it should be a keeper.

While I was at it I ordered a Victory the Sheriff 25 amp, should be a nice complement from the videos I've watched.

The guitar should arrive Thursday and the amp ahould be there Friday.

Stay tuned for a thorough demo and reviewof both , hopefully with videos, but I do have family coming over for the holiday weekend.

The Victory amp sounds amazing from the videos I have watched.
It looks to fit my need of enough gain without any pedals as a boost.

I’ve been using an Ash GG as my main gigging guitar for several years now.

It’s fantastic…amazing neck/fretwork and the tones are extremely versatile. Tuning is rock solid although the bone nut does require some sauce now and then.

But be aware, the body finish is so fragile a good sneeze will scratch it. Mine is just about bare wood underneath the middle pickup.

If you’re one of those “relic it the natural way” folks, this is your guitar

Also, I have owned a Suhr Modern in the past and the GG is equal as far as quality. Can’t really say one is better than the other, both top tier guitars.

Thanks for all the great info. I am not a relic guy, all my guitar look pristine, so I will be careful.
I am glad the Charvel is equal quality compared to the Suhr.

Guitar arrived this morning before noon, really hot out so I will wait until tomorrow to let it acclimate to room temps.
The back of those UPS trucks get up to 130-150 degrees in the summer.

Right out of the box even with 10-46s, it is perfect. I prefer 9-42s, but it is great as is.
It feels so solid.
Sounds great, the tones are amazing, single coil and humbucker.
Not a bad tone in there, something I can't say about my other SuperStrats.
Definitely going to be my #1 followed by my Ibanez AZ2402 Prestige.

I know I am a Gibson guy, but you gotta give credit where credit is do.

Thanks, I am not usually a Signature Guitar guy, but if the specs are right, I'll go for it.
I didn't know about him until after I bought the guitar.

I still love Gibson tone, but can't beat the playability of these SuperStrats, plus they have great tone also.
As for the amp, it sounds great, where I might get in trouble is playing it back to back next to my Soldanos.

I hope to make some videos, but summers are really busy for me, I play more and video more after the summer.
Right now I am trying to get my outdoor time while it is sunny and warm

Cool, I'm thinking about switching the Gotoh floyd on my guitar either to NFT floyd or Gotoh 510 but can't really make my mind on that.

I just played the Charvel for a while, rock solid tuning.

On a side note, the Victory Sheriff 25 Head is a keeper.
I love the chewy spongy high gain goodness of channel 2, plexi lovers will like Channel 1s more crunchy style gain

the GG charvel is cool and comfortable. i wasn’t knocked out by the bridge pickup being too bassy for me and not being able to lower it, but the fretboard is shred factory fun and the clean tones were great!

So far I love the bridge pickup, it is definitely not shrill which is a good thing.
Still getting to know the guitar, with 6 visitors including two granchildren here this weekend it was not easy.

I'm not a huge fan but I caught him live once with the Aristocats. He is a virtuoso.

He is definitely a great player, but in no way did that have any influence on why I bought the guitar.
That was all about the specs, same with my Ibanez Prestige LB1, I didn't really know who Lari Basilio was until after I bought the guitar and while researching the guitar's tones.
