I always like the clips with that guitar. When you switch from the Yaron to the Silverburst its jarring the difference.

I love Les pauls.

This video is a great example of how widely they can range in tone from guitar to guitar, even though people assume an LP is an LP is an LP.

From guitar to guitar in the world of Les Pauls the difference in tone can be enormous. Still the best I’ve heard is a friends 84 LP Standard. It has the magic. It’s ridiculously heavy and he isn’t sure if the pickups are original. He got it in 95 and never checked the pups. Every time he has a set up, regret, work, etc., he is always told, “whoa…….this thing is INCREDIBLE!!!” I have owned R8s, R9s, historic this and that, and it’s a league above anything else.

I would love to put a Yaron up against it in a head to head battle of the glorious Les Paul off contest. And have all the forums and YouTube members participate. Guys are bringing in real 59 and 60s for Les Paul cage matches. At the end of a few months you are left with the most glorious Les Paul/single cut ever built. Now that would totally rule.

Leon's playing is great but I'd like to add that if he ever wanted to start a religious death cult or something to that effect, his penetrating stare and affable personality would garner a fanatical following in no time at all. Since the T shirts have already been printed, I'm thinking he could work the word Zen in somehow.

I've played and owned a whole shitload of them, and I agree. I've never played a Yaron, but I've played some vintage ones - both golden era and norlins - that were absolutely fantastic.

There's relatively new ones that are great too, although they're a bit fewer and farther between.

I've had three 2000s standards, and two of them have been amazing guitars, easily comparable to vintage stuff, and one didn't have anything technically wrong with it but felt dead.

I would take my edgeburst standard I got from @itsgoodnow over any r8 or r9 I've ever played - its very light, but just has "it." Especially on recordings.

That face leon makes in the video, I know it well :ROFLMAO:

That's "oh fuck yeah" Les Paul face.

Its the wood
I was reading a thread 'over there' about Stradivarius and how he soaked the wood for the violins for years prior to drying it and somebody mentioned that Yaron does that (or has done that).

Im pretty sure Yaron sources mahagony that is old as he can find. As far as 50`s Lp`s the wood dries out over 65-70 years so the older the more resonant, but Im sure there are duds even in a 50`s guitar.

Agreed.

Thought some of you boys may enjoy this one, just straight up old-school fun ?

Great guitar and plays like a dream. The slightly overwound A4 bridge pickup is killer for anything you throw at it and the neck is super articulate.

Cult of Leon you say? I’ve read weirder shit on this forum that’s for sure.

leon seems like a good dude...love listening to him noodle.

i only watched the vid here (not YT)...were you hitting the small box with anything, or was that straight in

Smallbox and a sick Les Paul? Can't go wrong with that man

Sounds great! I've never seen one in person but I've heard nothing but great things about those guitars! I can honestly say unless that Powerball comes through for me I will never see one or play one??????

Straight in. Although that particular amp is stock it's unusually high in gain for some reason. Never tried to diagnose or fix the 'issue' as she sounds superb!
