The dem's go-to plan. If you're for it, it's legal. If not, illegal.

Drawing mid decade, or between census is against federal law. Some states will allow it but there is a court process to go through first I believe.

Much like declaring an emergency and sending in the military to police domestically. Or say deporting illegal immigrants.

That is the problem I have with the way Trump does things. There is a procedure to do them legally but he ignores them. That is a slippery slope and people should not be ok with it

4 years of open borders and 20 million illegals isn’t an emergency to you?
Of course not, because it doesn’t affect the ‘shire.
The public voted him in, and the public voted for him to remove these illegals.
Don’t like it? Too bad I guess

Yes, he could run things through the normal channels that past presidents have. The results would be the same (a win), it would just take much more time....a dem filibuster for example.

Pretty sure that is not true
It's not customary to do it that way though.
Census during covid was wild.
Didn't census workers illegally invade your home?

But there is a reason that we have rules.

Checks and balances is the single most important and fundamental principle behind a democracy.

Yes, a lot of people just hate Trump, but a lot of shit he gets, like being called a dictator, is because he does dictator shit. Checks and balance is what separates a democracy and a dictatorship. I would feel the same way if Trump was doing stuff I agreed with

Yes they did. And yes it was wild. Which is all the more reason the we could very simply get a court to decide that it is a good idea to redraw lines, which is all the more reason that doing it illegally anyways should be unacceptable to you

i doubt this

So when democrats gerrymander, it's all good but when the right does it, it's dictator behavior?
Democrats have been importing illegal immigrants and turning them into democrat voters for what, a decade now?
Is this ok with you? It's treasonous behavior and should be punished severely.

It isn’t going your way Dan, but we're still a democracy. There will be no dictator, it's just a favorite lib smear. There will be another presidential election in 2027 and no one knows who will win that spot: democracy.
It would take way too long and too much typing to list the differences between a dictator and an American president, but that info is out there if you look for it.

In never said I was ok with any of it. Can you recall anything positive I’ve said about any politician here ever?

Like ID-based, in-person voting?

Checks & balances. I agree.

Further to my previous post:

In Australia, as long as I've been voting (40 years this week), you have to get your name ticked-off when you present in-person.

Exceptions for the elderly / sick / infirm are managed by local councils (I assume?); you apply and receive a postal form.
