I remember a while back that people were buying some bulk cheap Chinese 12AX7's that everyone liked. I had the tube type written down but can't find it.

Do those have the same pinout as a 12AX7? I thought they were different? (edit it IS comparable).

I am going to buy 50 for a feeler. It's about $20. Let's see how it goes!

Yeah, BUT the guy claimed his pricing at that was an error and said that they were $12 lol.

I did buy 40 KT88 Shuguang for under $100 shipped though from a different guy.

The ones that i turned a lot of guys onto were chinese 12ax7b Silver dragons. They are better than all nos tubes i have tried if you are playing metal. They have a lot of gain, and are very quiet. They sound amazing.
