Does anyone really fall for this shit?

Thanks for the breakdown of your amp for sale. BI'm just asking about it to make sure its in good condition, so can you assure me i will not be disappointed? Am requesting this transaction should be done via Pay Pal, the Pay Pal charges are on me. Dont worry i have private hauler that will come for the pick up and will also sign all the necessary document on my behalf after you received your money cash in hand and I hope we can make the purchase as fast as possible? Do you have a Pay Pal Acct??

"Private hauler" = dead giveaway. Of course, there's plenty of signs but that's comical.

Totally legit and trustworthy man!!! Ya, you gotta love these guys. They sure are persistent.

I am Nigerian prince. I am posting this today to let you know that user KRUEGER has inherited an 3 1960 CHERRY SUNBURST GIBSON LES PAUL ELECTRIC GUITARS from your uncle in Nigeria. Please advice as to how get your guitars. Also comes with matching DUMBLE STEEL STRINGER AMPS (5). Please advise. Do you have paypal acct???

I can't believe they are still trying this. It's been the same scripting for YEARS.

I remember about 13 years ago I was contacted buy one of these "buyers". I already knew it was a scam because it was a common scam even 13 years ago but for shits and giggles I said ok lets do it.

Back then it wasn't Paypal it was them mailing me a check and then the hauler coming to pickup my $200 Crate Amp that they offered me $1,200 for.

Needless to say the check (although looked pretty damn legit) was a fake and it was rejected by the Bank.

I didn't care about giving my address out because I was renting and moving in a week anyway but yeah I would never give any of my account info to anyone like that.

Over a decade later and they are still trying the same old scam.

Cash in hand.... Do you have a paypal account? Cash in hand is not PayPal.

I fell for it a few months ago and they scammed me for everything I have. Now the F'rs are living in my house using my internet.

Y'all educate me as to how this scam works...is it a PayPal vulnerability?

Invite him to do the transaction. Then rob him when he gets there.
I mean the 'private hauler'

Yeah I am curious as to how the actual scam part goes, too. I see people post their paypal address publically asking for donations for shareware software and such. How is telling someone an address where they can send you money openeing the door for a scam? Is it just an attempt to get emails that have PP accounts associated with them and then they try to brute force/hack the account?

I wish for once, I could have 5 minutes alone in my basement with one of these fucks

If you Pay with Paypal the scumbag can claim he never received the item if you sent your amp or guitar without getting any tracking info to an unconfirmed address. I think you're shit out of luck when you go to Paypal and you can't prove anything. They can say you never shipped and they can get their money back, then when they do get your amp or guitar they keep it.

If you ship with Fedex or UPS and you can track it you can then say FUCK YOU when someone comes at you and says you never shipped. With a tracking number you pull that bitch out like your cock and wave it in their face and tell em to suck it.

^ I think you can have them send you a paypal request with "pickup in person" in the notes...or something like that and you are covered.
