Checked out a clip of their V20 Nitro - sounded pretty good. Anyone had one or played a Granger before?

I know Curt and he’s a great guy. Solid builder. Honest business man. I owned his 2204 amp many years ago. I’ve regretted letting that amp go for a long time, which is why he’s currently building (or about to start soon) his 5036 amp for me. It’s a 50 watter based on the SIR #36 mod. Two footswitchable gains.
I think Curt’s amps are more “old school” than a lot of the more frequent Marshall style mods that are talked about around here. I went from his 2204 to a Killer Kali ++ and I really hated that amp. It was built solid and Gower is a fantastic guy to work with, but I realized very quickly that I prefer a more “stock” or old school kind of sound.
But anyway, I know Curt is an honest and reliable person who will build me something solid that’ll sound killer. And I also know he won’t take my money and screw me over. I highly recommend him and his builds.

Awesome, thanks for the input. I go for more of the old school sound myself. I'll be contacting him.

Never tried his amps, but I've ordered amp parts and supplies from him so many times I've lost count.
Really good quality parts, with some unique, proprietary stuff I can't get anywhere else.
I love his relay boards and low voltage power supplies. Opto-fet switching board kicks ass as well.
He supports everything he sells, emails are always answered promptly, and stuff ships quick.
Great guy to deal with IMO.
Big fan here, for what it's worth (y)

I used one of his Marshall replacement PCBs. Very pleased with the quality.

That's because Granger amps are Marshall-like, the tons of modders mentioned here aren't as much, that's why I don't like em either. It's OK if you add some gain, but if you feel like there's muddiness everywhere and it needs to be fixed, there are too much mids, "low end and tightness" is the title of your bible and articulation gives you bigger boner than tits, then you are modding Marshalls but Marshall sound is really not your thing imho.

I was with you until the 'articulation' thing...any vintage 800, JMP has always had great clarity and articulation. Maybe not up to a Wizard level but not far off.
Put it this way..when I can wind up my 72 Trem I don't miss the MCI 100 I had, at all.

I'm not against articulation, I like some note separation when playin under gain, it's mandatory if you're into metal. But hell, I've heard too many guitar players, and read too many forum comments (all forums) about articulation being the ultimate goal, 'cause you know you don't want to sound muffled when trying to get in touch with big cetaceans thru downtuned low E right?

Ultimate goal should be TONE, it's useless being super intellegible with gobs of gain if you sound sterile as heck.

How does it compare to a REVV G20? Interested in one since I plan to use ir for recording as well.

You have one right?
I do and I mainly bought it based on his review. To be honest I've barely played it, not because I didn't like the sound but because I'm discovering I'm just not really a DIY home recording guy and I have other setups I like playing. I certainly have not explored all of its tonal capabilities and I think I've only played one of my guitars through it. I stay away from the "tell me if I'll like it" thing because everything is so subjective.

I didn't know he had these, good to know. I burned some traces on mine doing mods years ago like a hack, would love a replacement at some point. Will keep this in mind.

True! Nowadays the DIY recording thing looks very appealing and amps like this make it look even more. I'm still reluctant though, my 5150III has me quite in love still tbh.

I had one of his E35 Regals. I really liked that amp. Wish I still had it from time to time.
