Guess this will all depend on when you grew up.

Just watched the AC/DC story on Axsys Tv and it reminded me that for myself....

AC/DC is the greatest rock n roll band ever.

Your picks? :D

The Rolling Stones. 1968-1972. Beggars Banquet, Let It Bleed, Get Yer Ya Yas Out (Live), Sticky Fingers and Exile On Main Street is the best 5 record streak by any rock band and Exile is the greatest rock album of all time IMO...

Not a fan of anything that came after, but I like a lot of stuff that came before '68 as well - some real gems.

But... then again, I'm old. :D

Hot Rocks is in my Car right now. For me that was the greatest Stone era as well.

Hands down the monkees were the greatest since they had the sweetest ride

and with davey the got all the girls (can't say that about ac/dc)

I'm a flea bit peanut monkey
All my friends are junkies
That's not really true

I'm a cold Italian pizza
I could use a lemon squeezer
What you do?

But I've been bit and I've been tossed around
By every she-rat in this town
Have you, babe?

Well, I am just a monkey man
I'm glad you are a monkey woman too

I was bitten by a boar
I was gouged and I was gored
But I pulled on through

Yes, I'm a sack of broken eggs
I always have an unmade bed
Don't you?

Well, I hope we're not too messianic
Or a trifle too satanic
We love to play the blues

Well I am just a monkey man
I'm glad you are a monkey, monkey woman too, babe

I'm a monkey
I'm a monkey
I'm a monkey man
I'm a monkey man
I'm a monkey...
Songwriters: JAGGER, MICK / RICHARDS, KEITH

used to twist up with Jimi.

Dan...didn't expect this upon opening.

Kidding.
Don't listen to them like I did. But got all their CDs and overall they are my all time fave

There are only different shades of great.......no greatest!

Rush, Zeppelin, Van Halen, AC/DC, Sabbath(Ozzy/DIO).................there are more for sure!

20 years ago I woulda said Kiss, cuz I am a big kiss fan up until the 96 reunion. Now I could care less..

Zepplin probably #1, but to me it's RUSH. Still strong, and I can listen to all eras of them no problem.

Sabbath is solid too.

Steve,
I agree with what your sayin but......No Some Girls or Tattoo You? ;)

I thought it was a known fact that AC/DC is the best rock band ever.

And that's partly because they had one of the best frontman in rock n roll!

Bon was one of a kind with his awesome stage presence and his brilliant lyrics that he used to call his "bathroom poetry."

Man, I can't disagree with all that was mentioned.

Zep, Rush, Stones, AC/DC, Sabbath

I am surprised no one mentioned The Who, Beatles, or Deep Purple

Black Sabbath is the only answer. They had the most impact on the musical landscape that most of us here enjoy. Without Sabbath a lot of other bands would simply not exist. They made the blueprint for all things heavy.

I dunno why, but that stuff never appealed to me. I like the country, folk and blues based rock from '68-'72. That is what makes them the greatest of all time to me...
