Maybe.. but my guitar ('78 LP Custom) is already pretty worn and beaten up so it wouldn't make much difference for me haha :D

:picsorban: when someone here installs chains for straps, uses metal cables on a suhr or a caparsion :D

TBH i think everyone has that "one" guitar that just gets thrown around - but im a cork sniffer when it comes to taking care of my gear :dunno:

All the above mentioned are great...I've used Evidence Melody, Mogami and George L, all awesome. But my new favorite is Colossal Cable. Awesome tone, very thick and transparent, built like a tank and VERY reasonably priced for such a high quality cable. Sounds very similar to the Mogami and Evidence, just a better feel to the cable itself and less expensive than Evidence.

Solid.

Does anyone know what is inside the solid cables? I've heard it's japanese. Wish I could find out so I could make my own. :)

i have a blues buddy of mine that has one of these.

tonally - they are too pure for my tastes.. that cable is probably the best cable mentioned here - but i dislike how transparent it is with the high's of some of my pickups. i dislike anything ice-picky and at higher volumes that cable is too good at showing the small neunces of the highs in my SD's.

mogami's are a nice medium for me - but yes those colassal cables are fucking sick - unbelievable.

Proco or Canare Cable with switchcraft or Neutrick ends soldered on by me :)

is that the stuff where the core is actually one piece of solid copper, or some alloy or something?

if so, you can get the same effect using Television coaxial cable. I did it. It sounded cool, but DAMN, is that cable effen stiff.

I use a black cable with silver looking thingy's on the ends that one end goes into my guitar and the other end goes into the amp

+1 for Colossal, I actually helped Brian test cables when he was coming up with them. We A/B'd against everything mentioned in this thread except the VoVox, and what he came up with was the clear winner IMO...

I use either Mogami or Canare. Not the best, but they're very good.

I use the planet waves cables with the circuit breaker buttons, great for changing guitars quick. Probably not the best sounding cables out there, but they do the job for me :)

FWIW I tried George L's and they sounded better (awesome, actually), but were less reliable, I had problems with them shorting out if they got bumped which is a no-no. I'm an idiot and could never seem to put them together well, lol!

I have the exact same setup AND experience :D hahaha.
I used George Ls when we were doing a gig in Oslo, and pulling the Leatherman mid-song to cut the cable and put on the plug again pretty much did it for me :D Now they`re on my pedal board and in the back of my rack.

I use the Two-Rock Crystal Clear Cables... I know they are expensive, but what it does to your high end is amazing  Perfect bass response for me too. No FIZZ anywhere

Which one are you using, Modern Classic or Brooklyn? I use Evidence HG now but they can be stiff. Great sound though.

I'm using the Modern Classic...the Brooklyn is cool too. The Brooklyn I think is better for metal since it has such a quick response and adds to the "chug" sound. The Modern Classic I like because it's more neutral and really just shows what's coming out of your guitar. I used to use Evidence too, but I didn't like the stiffness either, but I couldn't find anything that sounded as good until these.
