We've got a Scooby Doo mystery to solve...

This belongs to a friend of mine. He was told it is a Japanese replica, semi-hollow, bolt-on neck (not sure, no back picks), and he was told it is from the 1960s. No name on the headstock. He had the strings changed at GC a few years back and the "GC tech" (insert snarky comment here)... the GC tech told him it was worth big bucks... and to get it insured.

So yeah... He knows I collect guitars and asked me what exactly it is and what I think it's worth? So any and all ID and pricing help appreciated.

The only Jap built guitars from the 70s or earlier that are worth thousands are the first Ibanez lawsuit Explorer/Destroyers; AFAIK. But I have a friend who I've forwarded this to, he may know more....

I'm old, that type of shitty 60's guitar gives me nightmares. How did I stay with playing? Man those guitars sucked so bad and that is all you could buy (afford) back then. At least today's shitty guitars are playable.
