Guitar shapes you thought would really take off... but didn't.

I remember seeing Mick Mars and Lita Ford with the Warlock and thought it was such a cool guitar but for whatever reason I never got one.

My favorite dual humbucker hardtail is the Ibanez PS10, I have a two, and a few other PS models.

Here's my Chibanez PS, I added white controls, and a pair of white Dimarzio D Activator-X

One of my fav guitar shapes is my EBMM Kaizen, it's like a modern offset, very comfortable, thin, lightweight. It's my favorite / main guitar since I got my first one. It hasn't been out that long, maybe 2. 5 years, but I think the price and lack of models in brick & mortar stores limits buyers. They have Sterling models now, but I've heard some quality / tuning stability issues that need to be addressed.

Another guitar shape which never caught on is the EBMM Majesty; it's a traditional super strat, rounded and smaller, but it's a very comfortable and versatile guitar, and in my top 3 with the Kaizen, PS10.

I'm ok with these not being popular shapes / guitars.

You didn’t get one because deep down inside you knew it was an abomination. It’s a niche shape that reflects the jaggedness of darker music. Not all music is lasting and timeless like a Les Paul’s and their successive players.

Yeah, the ESP Forrest shape. I always wanted an F-shape. It never caught on.

The EBMM Majesty shape got popular enough, even when the guitars weren't. The ESP Horizon III is really similar in shape. Those horns are sexy on both.

I also thought RKS modular guitars with interchangeable bodies would have caught on. I have a RKS Black Diamond, and they had a cheaper series RKS Wave.

I knew a luthier up in MN who was making modular guitars like that in the 90's. MEG was the brand, "modular electric guitar". He had a few different bodies you could buy and I wanna say there was a multi pin connector that hooked pickups into the controls. It never took off. Seems like a solution looking for a problem more than anything.
