...now if the right L-5 comes along, non-cutaway...and I have the money...

edit: they made two of these "shark" models for a Japanese dealer at the Gibson Custom Factory, this is #2; #1 is in a traditional sunburst finish.
“Better make that $6001, bitch!….don’t forget to spay and neuter your pets”.I wouldn’t spend over 6k
That's probably vintage? It's not the L-5 shark model from the custom shop. This is the sunburst #1;

This Benedetto Sinfonietta model starts at $40,000 new, plus any customizations:

I'll probably get another new D'Angelico from Asia for for $1700.![]()
A man needs an SLO, so...I got drunk one night on reverb (used to be a thing) and ordered a SLO and a diezel vh2. That was a $6100 18 pack of shiner
If it was shiner blonde it was totally worth it IMO.I got drunk one night on reverb (used to be a thing) and ordered a SLO and a diezel vh2. That was a $6100 18 pack of shiner
Looks sick. How long have you had it for? Asking since I'm curious about its purported neck properties of not moving at all with temp and humidity changes.. does it really do that? I'm particular about my neck relief, have a roasted flame maple with carbon reinforcement neck that moved a lot in its first years. The humidity here fluctuates from indoors AC dry to palpably moist monsoon humidity within days. No dead notes on the two? I'm jonesing for a headless one but I don't trust marketing and influencers for feedback and reviews. TIAI ordered two Aristides 060s built exactly how I'd want, first one was $3200+/-, second was $4200+/- after import fees. Such a small price for me to pay because I will have them with me until I die. I never have to worry about fret sprout, fretboard cracking, body cracking, leveling the frets, headstock breaking.. Which have all happened to previous guitars I've owned. I can fix them and it's still not worth it to spend $$$ on wooden guitars anymore.
Like other people said, I'll just assemble a warmoth or partscaster for a few hundred and have it be exactly what I need. Aristides are the only guitars I'd spend $$$ on.

Here you go, it's a custom 24. Adding to this thread: I own four electrics, if I need something else for recording I borrow from friends. So over 25 years I spent about 20k on guitars, could most likely sell all of them for 10k total. To me that's good value, especially considering how much I enjoy playing these guitars. Never gets boring.
Good lord what a guitar. I get what you mean about it being a bit much to show up to a gig with because in the context of a just bunch of dudes playing, it's really fancy and ornate looking.
Still though, beautiful instrument.

That's an awfully nice guitar rig for someone who doesn't know much about guitar, or whatever you were saying to avoid posting neo soul clipsI would pay 10k for an electric if I could get KXK to make me a custom and get it done in a year.
I have never played a nicer guitar than my old kxk. I just hated the floyd (i am a TOM guy), and the tone knob and neck pickup. View attachment 418739
