I would leave him a horrible feedback. 0/5. I would add a “future seller beware of this guy” feedback. If I had hundreds of positive feedbacks, I would accept a negative feedback from this wanker. Buyers remorse or not understanding how to properly use an amp is no reason for a partial refund. This guy needs to be outed. It’s not right for reverb to give him a partial refund.
god damn, it’s unbelievable to me that guitarists/musicians are doing this to each other. This is disgusting behavior.
I would send that guy a message telling him he should be ashamed of himself. I wonder if that wanker has done this before? Does he have a lot of reverb transactions?
I am going to have to stop reading these threads. I find it so distasteful that musicians are scamming one another. Guitar forums are awesome and are here to geek out over guitars with like minded individuals, share information, do deals with other cool guitarists, etc. these guy are going to ruin it for everyone. It really sucks and bums me out that this garbage is going on. I have never complained or posted rants until now, but there are too many threads between here and the gear page of sellers getting screwed, of PayPal and reverb ALWAYS siding with the buyer.
what these idiots don’t seem to understand is that people are going to stop selling stuff online. We could be looking for a certain rare guitar that we have wanted our entire life, and the guy that has it isn’t going to ever post it online because they’ve seen these losers and their scams and want nothing to do with it. But that probably doesn’t even enter their minds. Their minds are probably consumed with greed and constructing new scams/ways to dick over their fellow musicians.
so, if you really think about it, the far reaching implications of these losers behavior is already, and will continue to cost the honest guys who want to trade or sell their gear. We might not ever find that one guitar/amp/pedal we’ve been searching for our entire lives because of these losers behavior. I know that I myself am very hesitant to list higher dollar items now.
I’ve been screwed by PayPal and buyers. It’s horrible and so maddening. This madness has to stop. I have a friend who buys and sells sneakers. He uses a middleman service they provide on one of the main shoe buying sites. You send the sneakers to the middleman. They make sure it’s as described, then send the shoes once they’ve receive payment. When the seller gets the cash and buyer gets the shoes it’s a done deal. Nothing can change that. If they don’t like the shoes they bought, tough luck, resell them. Apparently, there were many scams going on in the shoe buying/selling world and until this middleman service started it was running rampant. They needed someone to police all the madness. Sadly, it looks like something like that could be needed because we aren’t capable of being honest buyers and sellers. This is very sad. Grown ups, trying to rob, gouge, steal, scam, and deceive one another among a group of fellow guitarists and musicians. What a truly sad state of affairs. .
