I am so sick of hearing these horror stories. It’s clearly buyers remorse, or else the dude is just a moron who has never dealt with high gain channel changers.
no way I would accept a return and I would fight it until the bitter end. People have become so horrible with this stuff. PayPal’s 6 month or year return policy is literally the most preposterous thing I have EVER heard.
this is becoming common and it leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. I have bought a lot of gear that I didn’t like at all. As a matter of fact, I have acquired gear that I despised and hated. Just wasn’t my thing, there was nothing wrong with it. I accept that, and I will sell it, that’s part of buying and selling. These god damn snow flakes and their sense of entitlement is just awful.
don’t even get me started on PayPal. Sweet Jesus, but they are the worst. I did a deal with a guy in person and he paid me with PayPal. He then reported to PayPal that someone used his account and it wasn’t him. They sucked the cash right out of my account. They told me either way, I was wrong, that it’s not for local in person sales.
Buyers remorse is not a legitimate reason for a return. If you don’t know how the gear you acquire works, and the item is fine, that’s your problem for not doing the homework. Accept it and move on, don’t file a claim like a blubbering ninny.
If I was reverb, and of course, I’m not, the first hint that someone was a scammer, baby who can’t handle the world of grown ups and can’t be honest, hints at buyers remorse as the reason for a return, or pulls any sort of nonsense, I would instantly initiate a lifetime ban and inform them that the platform is for reasonable and rational human beings, not scumbags and thieves.
I’m sorry for the rant, but this is happening so frequently these days. The OP should not even have to consider taking a return. The other guy that took the cab back because he caught the guy lying, and then the guy said it wasn’t jiving with his sound, you are a better man than I am, because there is not a chance in hell I would have taken that back, no way. Not liking gear is not a reason for a return.
over the past 6 months I have seen so many threads like this. I find it even more distasteful that musicians are doing this to one another. I will only do deals with guys I know, or long term forum members that others vouch for. Although, even that doesn’t always work. I’ve come across a couple deceptive wankers that were couches for.
so what is the solution? I don’t know? People have become so dishonest and awful over the past few years. I don’t remember scammers being so prevalent even 5 years ago, but obviously something changed and many guitarists started to think it was ok to scam other guitarists. They are ruining what could be a cool thing for everyone. But, because of this behavior, people are leaving the platforms and only doing in person deals.
there is a cool new platform being developed by a fellow rig talker, hopefully he is able to pull it off and put reverb out of business, wouldn’t that be nice. I am sick of hearing reverb ALWAYS siding with the buyer. Something needs to change.
rant over, sorry about that, but seeing this thread just infuriated me. This is happening way too much. Sorry OP tha you have to deal with this nonsense. Hopefully you come out on top.
