Not that I'm aware of. Just different tubes due to reliability issues.
Hagen is sick!!
I can't find a Hagen in the Atlanta area. Any words of tonal description? Where between the V and the H?
I've been a mega fan of the Diezel siggy tone of the VH4. I also
liked the Herbert. But here it is, the Hagen is to me, simply awesome. It doesn't really "fit" in between the Herbert or the V or the Einstein or the Schmidt or whatever. It's a
new family member. Here's my take on it - where the V was very tight and surgical in its attack, it was also replete with that one-and-only Ch.3 Diezel vibe. I loved the V. Still do. Where the Hagen excels to me is that it offers this slippery feel to it. It's got some greasiness to it. I can let the amp really have its own personality without me being heavy on the reigns. It's fun and sounds very very Deizel'esque. It's got 4 channels, the first of which is a supreme clean. Unlike anything in the Diezel lineage, but with a hint of the Herbert's pristine clean. Channel 2 isn't like the V, and certainly isn't like the Herbert. Einstein? No. It's raunchier, not compressed, really roars. Channel 3 is just off the hook. Took the Ch.3 of the V and added a LOT of playability to it. It does all "the greats" with ease - that Tool, AIC, prog metal, AAL, metal feel and more SO easily, but always holding a nice bass response, great chewy mids, and a long beautiful decay with all the 3D rubberiness metal feel of the V's Ch.3 Channel 4 is fluid man - gotta play it to understand.
Can't explain it in terms of the Herbert or the V better than what I've typed.
Your ears may vary.
