So I've had my Hagen for quite some time. Ran the Herbert for 7 years over 200 shows. Never ever thought I could replace it or beat it. I tried the vh4 for about 2 years but always back to Herbert..... Until Peter designed the Hagen. I Remember hearing clips n thinking huh that has a grind to it. Like it sounds like it gets down n dirty. Saved up n scored a deal on here w Tonemonster. I played Hagen n Herbert side by side w an a/b/y pedal. For months. Despite a bug I had to have worked out w midi. No matter what guitar I played thru Hagen it just sounded raw'r , meaner, dirtier. It had what Herbert didn't. A new mojo to replace the old mojo. So closing in on a year later. I still plug in that Hagen and its Luke hearing it for the first time over n over again.
I don't know what it is n cannot explain it. But diezel amps have a special sound that no other amp has. It has a feel like notes just fall off the fretboard. It loves effects in front or loop. Pedals or rack it don't matter. And with Hagen I love have 4 channels each diff from the other.
Ch1 is very chimey clean chorus or phase I'm in love.
Ch2 is what a Marshall dreams of being at night. Lol!
Ch3 is like a mix of Herbert n vh4 really it is!
Ch4 is a tight mother trucker. Very creamy leads.

Diezel Hagen/Diezel 4x12 RL/Diezel Columbus 8 years n still nothing touches Diezel.
Been to a bunch of lil amp fests n put them up against the best I've owned lots of Amps n wo any thought if I can have one amp only it's a Diezel.

Peter thanks for years of great products. Thanks for your help w questions. Thanks for working out that midi issue. You truly are the example all should follow.
Cujo!

Couldn't agree with you more. It's a very very special amp. I heard this amp and the gnaw, grind, the thump and the gnar is just over the fkn top. Awesome sounding amp indeed - but hey - maybe not everyone's cup of tea. And agreed, Ch.2 needs some serious respect - SERIOUS respect in the world of karrang-seekers.

It's also nicely adaptive to different glass (don't shoot me, Papa). But for some sweet flavor, try a GL ECC83 in the V1 position. Or a few throughout

Awesome amp. It's got grind Baby, it's got grind.

(loved the "raw" description - that's what it is - raw while maintaining an undeniable Diezel signature tone).

GREAT POST CUJO!! :rawk: :rawk: :rawk: :rawk: :rawk:

I couldn't agree more ! Both on the Hagen itself and the channel 2. It's almost 2 amps in 1, I could really see a 1 channel marshally amp in the Diezel line based on this channel...

It's sick.

In the spirit of speaking "kerrang tongue" here, have you tried Hagen's Ch.4 with the gain knocked WAY back? Check it. Crazy cool. Sounds like a British amp on the verge of exploding with gobs of rich tone and sustain from now till the next poor man's tax cut.

Peter,

As long as you can make a living out of it, you got our support, i hope youle continue for many years to come.

Ive had quite some amps, but sinds the herbert ive spend more time playing and enjoying playing instead off fiddling with settings and always turning knobs.

Great advice ! Quite interesting setup indeed, I'll have to dig it further.

That's crazy how I did progresses now that I play instead of trying to find my next amp

Let me know what you think. You'll want to roll the presence back a touch as well. It really sounds wicked. I know Ch.2 is the crunchier channel by default, but I've found the compression and gain structure of the 4th Channel makes it an interesting grinding channel when dialed in like a low-grade gain channel. Master up, channel volume down, makes nice to the ears

Diezel is the tone I heard in my head for years. Now it's reality for the last 8 years. My tone hunting has been over. What's cool as every time I do an amp fest n bring diezel after everyone is done wanking on whatever I hear the diezel n smile loading it back in the car knowing "for me " I'm going gone with the best!
