100%, I have played many Hamers. I look at Hamer and Heritage on a similar level...although I bet there are some wild Hamers out there still undiscovered.

I'm sure there are, but i'm also sure all the "Collectors" have ruined the dream of anyone who actually plays the guitar owning one

A solid color hamer standard (doesn't need to be a fabled four digit - just a USA) is one of my dream guitars but ill never be able to afford one. Or a shishkov. They always priced well into the insanity zone thanks to all the hobbyists

A guy in the band that opened for my buddy’s band on Saturday had a red ‘81 Vector and it was gorgeous.
Noticed it immediately when I walked into their soundcheck.

I’ve never had the pleasure of playing an 80’s Vector. V’s are by far my favorite, I wish I bought one years ago before they were collectors prices.
It was cool to see a guy playing one in the wild. Also had a NMV (I believe) Top Hat cooking through a Power Station.

Funny that this thread just started. I have a vintage Hamer Blitz bass project in the works right now. Literally just boxed it up to ship it out for custom paint. Will be a recreation of a dream bass from when I was 15 years old.

They are absolutely incredible playing guitars, especially the "golden era" ones

They used to be available for a screaming deal, but as has been mentioned, the cat's out of the bag on that

They're some of the best guitars I've ever played. The store I worked at in the early 80's was a Hamer dealer and those guitars didn't stay in the store very long. People loved 'em.

Sux because a Californian was too expensive for me as a broke kid.

Now as an adult, they've become collector items, and although I could afford one, they are too stoopidly expensive. So basically the same problem.

But one day, maybe when some poor bastard can't pay his rent and has to sell his Californian out of desperation........

This is the dream guitar equivalent for me as Crockett's white Testarossa was a dream car to me as a kid.

Those guitars are monsters! A pal offered to sell me his Californian back in the late 90's and I didn't have the coin at the time.

I totally know what you mean. A legit Standard, Vector, or Scarab has been on the "must own" list for me for my entire adult life but ive never had the cash, and the price keeps going up
