It's one of Mike's original designs - the 6 channel Meathead. It was his second amp produced, after the Bones. He licensed the design to Randall, for Kirk, and those two in the photo are 2 of 4 that were handbuilt and sporting the Randall logo for Kirk. He started using the original Meatheads on tour at the end of 2011, when the deal was announced. I saw them last September in Abu Dhabi and Kirk had the Fortin amps then. The Natas is licensed to Randall as well. I'll be seeing them again in Germany in June. Hopefully I can get backstage and have a little peek at the rack.

His bad vibrato and over use of the wah = a grammy and many many millions of dollars and unlike 99.9% of us can afford a meathead (note Brad is the .1% ha ha ha).

You guys really need to work on some new material for slamming Kirk. A lot of this vibrato and wah shit is getting really old.

Excuse me wah?

Kudos to Mike for the success...
Couldn't have happened to a better person or a better amp builder.
As far as Kirk, I could care less what people say. We all know his leads like the back of our hand, as they are etched in our memory.
There have been many worse technical guitarists out there that I don't care to mention that actually have guitar GOD status and are considered legends.
This thread should be a nice hats off to Mike Fortin, and wishing him more and more success.

Which God is worse?
I like Kirk, but he is the least powerful of rock guitar Gods that I can think of

I would love to hear a more affordable Natas!

True. At least Kirk seems like a real nice down to Earth guy from interviews I've seen and he doesn't seem to have any ego at all. And yeah, I'm sure even Kirk knows he's not the greatest player. But it's some of the weeny fans out there that are who the jokes are really aimed at and not Kirk himself.

Not sure if I would want the Natas done more affordable, it is the sum of parts the way it is.

The most dominating metal amp on the market.

i would love to see an affordable natas and meathead available to the masses. all the amps i REALLY want seem to be unicorns. i have been waiting for a DAR FBM for almost a year now, and even sold my herbert to have the money ready for one. if a natas or meathead showed up for $3k, i'd jump on it. who here wouldn't? mike fortin tone is a dream of mine.

lets just hope randall gets it right. they are legendary for having noisy amps. fortin is not.
