I applaud their odd timing usage... but god is it boring music. I hate cookie monster vocals. Typically, I don't chime in on things I don't like or view as "my opinion".... but this time is different.
Modern metal (and music in general) has become so bland. The down tuning and cookie monster vocals can go away, along with the over compressed Mesa Dual recto tones. Every release sounds like it was engineered by the same person!
Maybe part of it is my age. 'Im in my late 40's. Definitely a product of the 80's. I grew up on VH, Ozzy, Rush, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, and the speed metal bands of the 80's. There is no band putting out music today that people will still listen to in 30 years. What is this generations "Master of Puppets" or "Reign in Blood"?.... There is none!!!!!
