A jammin' friend of mine @eecamichael invited me here to share some interesting news - good timing actually as I need some more user input. In fact, I'm looking for a few musician to try this out if you live in the Phoenix area. I'm specifically interested if you use a multi-effects processors (or nearly anything that has MIDI In). Someone who likes to move around on stage or play solo's in the crowd would totally get this. So far, SoulPedal® controls Fractal FM3, Kemper, Headrush, and Line 6 (at least the models I could get my hands on).
This doesn't replace your system, it compliments it by providing more options from anywhere on stage. The controls could be a duplicate of existing footswitches, or extras for a smaller footprint on stage. The FM3 comes to mind for example, but I'm currently using a Gigboard.
My favorite part will be when people realize that pressure is easier than angle control (for the pedals), but now the App lets you choose either method. People instinctively use angle as a habit I think. It's so much easier if you just bend your knees and lean into your front foot with the crowd.
