Help Me Choose Speakers For This Setup...

This is a rig for small session work gigs where my Fractal just doesn't vibe. Mainly echoey, poorly acoustic treated venues. Blues, Fusion and Rock.

I have Chinese V30s in currently and they are really lower-mid rangey, woofy and flubby. They lack clarity and sparkle. I put the EQ pedal in the mix to try pull more of those dominant frequencies out. I don't want to sit scooping out EQ frequencies digitally in the G-Force. I want to actually be able to use the bass eq setting on the JMP as an EQ rather than have it at the lowest setting for each preset just to get a passable tone.

The DEEP and BASS SHIFT buttons are off.

Fender 72 Reissue Strat with YJM Fury Pickups
Boss GE-7 (Noisless mod) ->
Marshall JMP-1 ->
TC G-Force (Loop) ->
Marshall EL84 20/20 ->
2x12 Closed Back ->
SM57 (if larger venue)

(I keep a Palmer Macht 402 Power Amp and a modeller Pedal near-by as backup.)

They don’t get a lot of love but I think a g12-t75 is a great gigging speaker. I like them by themselves but mixed with one of the v30s might do the trick too

Yep, T75s. The JMP preamp was built when that speaker was Marshalls go-to.

The 75's work well with some volume. I've never heard V30s as flubby though.. Maybe it's your cab.

It is a cheap cab, but I can't for the life of me scoop out the messy low end with this setup!

Celestion V-Type would work well in your application.

Maybe you need to have close look at the cab, tighten the screws and stuff. V30's don't sound like that in properly constructed cab.
