I'm not disputing that he revolutionized the guitar or anything. Just didn't think that video was very good. If you walked into a club today and a guy sounded like that (but not playing hendrix covers) would you stick around and watch??

Nothing you said warranted those fly off the handle like a nutcase responses you got, I agree with you. Believe me when i tell you that he has no respect to folks when shit talking other players he doesn't like, but hypocritically attacks when someone does the same to someone he likes.

This shit has to stop! It's always the same bunch of guys (newer guys too) starting the shit slinging and just saying the most awful stuff. All of these guys should be banned, period! They act like 13 years olds..... actually my daughter is 13 and none or her friends or her acts anything like these guys.

Well...first thing's first...it's Hendrix. Throwing caution to the wind was what he was all about. If your philosophy is like that, you've got an equal chance of striking gold or landing on your face. That was his thing though, and a big part of what made him so great. On the other hand, I didn't think it was bad at all. Then again, it's a douchy thing to call anything Hendrix did bad anyway. He's a legend. Respect. The rhythm section is barley audible and the audio isn't great in this video. Probably what makes it sound "off" more than anything else.

You don't do that unless you're just trying to be negative...as there's no valid/reasonable argument or comparison.

For example, you don't see indy cars from 1969 on the track competing with a car from 2014, do ya?

I can see u saying that if I said all music from that era sucked, or Hendrix sucked, or even if I said Hendrix sucked live. But I simply said THAT video wasn't very good. There is plenty of music from that era and older that sounds good. Hendrix has plenty of material that sounds good. And to say you can't compare tone or music from older eras why are we constantly chasing those tones and talking about the playing. Obviously they are still relevant.
