Well, it certainly took awhile, but here is what the prototype head cabs for the new 50 watt Bottle Rocket look like. I'm really pleased with how they came out!

I'm going to have to change the silk screen of the Henning Amplification logo to move it a little to the right on the back, but these are just prototypes...

Here is the black head case/white chassis combo as well. I'm only offering these two colors for the Bottle Rocket to keep costs in line:

Whaddaya think?

Still got some tweaking to do with the bright caps, but I'm getting close!

Looks cool. It's beefiness harkens back to the Hiwatt cabs.

That looks great!!!! I can't wait to hear this thing!!

I was actually inspired by the Mojave Scorpion cab in terms of that beefiness, but yeah, the Hiwatts were like that too...

Maybe its just me, but the chassis front/back panel looks like it has a lot of empty space in relation to the overall cab size. Maybe its the knobs not being centered or something. Doesn't look bad, just different.

It is because of the way the PCB is in the chassis and where the pots/knobs need to be because of that. I think if you saw it in person, you might feel differently about it. It is exactly the same spacing as the Cherry Bomb (shown in the last two pics), btw...

Agreed. I think what makes the Cherry Bomb looks so cool (to me) vs the Bottle Rocket is the facia coming down around the chassis. Of course, if you are going for a smaller form factor with the Bottle Rocket, that wouldn't work well.

Lookin good. Now about those sounds...
Coming! Gotta do two more (hopefully final) PCBs and then I'll start making them "Special Guests" too!

clips/specs/price?
Clips coming - as I said, still making minor tweaks to the circuit.

Specs/Price:

50 watt power amp (EL34 based)
DC heaters
Single channel based on a modified version of the Cherry Bomb ROD channel
Two footswitchable masters (Regular and Solo), each with 3 way saturation switches
Series/Parallel switchable Tube buffered EFX Loop with independent Send and Receive pots (can be footswitched in/out of the circuit)
Two gain controls to control the first two gain stages of the amp
Two 3 way "Bright" switches
Replacing Density control with a Resonance control
External Bias points and adjustment
Overall Master on the front of the amp
No line out (I figure people can use the Suhr Iso Line out box if they need one)…

Price $2199.00

It looks fine, but maybe the text wants to be above the knobs.

I'm 6'5" so I look waaay down on amps and I'd never be able to see the text on a dark stage. Just a thought.

Yeah, I'm 6'4", so I know what you're saying. I tried a layout that had the lettering of the knobs between the switches and the knobs, but it looked really bad. It has to do with the way the switches attach to the PCB and the where the pots have to be. There isn't room to make it look good because the switches aren't all the same height. and that big dead space on the bottom looks really bad that way... You're just gonna have to lean over to see the labels or stack a couple 4x12s ;)

In all seriousness, the layout of the knobs is pretty easy to memorize since it's pretty standard and the switch locations give away what is what... No design is perfect, there are always trade-offs between what is aesthetically pleasing and what is functional. I try to do my best to walk that fine line, but i don't always get it right...

Just out of curiosity I did a quick mock up in Photoshop with one of your pics and you are right it doesn't look good. Looks the best the way it is. Nice job BTW!

Oh hell yeah. Nice Headshells!

They look beefy as fuck even tho the amp is smaller than the mothership.
