I don't know if anyone remembers but i kinda had a problem with the Herbert being overly trebly.
The amp came to me with Ruby high gain preamp tubes + 4 Penta KT88s and 2 Ruby KT88s.
This morning i got up and pulled 3 EH 12ax7s from my Mesa Strategy 500 power amp just to try in the Herbert V1,V2 and V3.
The results = That 3d tone i always had in my head since i used a Herbert in the studio back in 2003. The chord bloom and cut is there now without the harshness. I still plan on pulling the KT88s for EL34s but for now it's the amazing sounding beast that i always wanted.
