Yep, it's like going to Midas for a tire rotation. Find endless stuff wrong and before you know it, down the HMO rabbit hole you go. If I had cancer, I'd fix it myself. Just like everything else in my life that breaks. Always up to me to fix it. I have ZERO faith in medicine, except trauma medicine.
But for regular stuff, I stay far far away. These A-holes had me in for thousands to diagnose the fact that I had heartburn, then had me on prilosec for 20 years. Come to find out, that stuff is horrible for your body.

So without getting all hippy dippy, I meditated for a few years and convinced myself I was free of heartburn. I believe if you put 100% of your being into convincing yourself you are well, eventually you will start to believe it. Your meditations and imaginations of the story you create for yourself eventually become lies that you believe and eventually they seem like memories of something that already occurred. Then subconsciously, the fix will find you. I cured myself of heartburn and I believe you can cure yourself of anything. I've been studying healing for over 20 years. It's an obsession of mine because of my utter HATRED for the medical establishment and insurance companies. Heartburn is not cancer, but I approach my life as a scientist and will never ever give away personal responsibility to a doctor or anyone else. I'm 100% responsible for everything in my life and don't believe in the Gene BS. That is "because I have this gene, I'm going to get this disease"

I believe that genes cause you to have a propensity for something to occur, but it's ultimately epigenetics or your environment that cause a gene to upregulate or downregulate.
I hear ya - and ROLF about the bobsled team

About 30 years ago I figured out a way to will headaches to go away. My mom and brother still suffer immensely from migrain headaches. I don't. So I don't get headaches anymore, and if I do get a slight one, it doesn't take much for me to make it go away.

I wish I could do the same thing for Celiac Disease :(

You sound like you are anti Pauline scriptures? I can't get on board with that. I am orthodox, because orthodoxy is the visible church and it is the original church. Orthodoxy predates all NT scriptures. We do not say "got saved" because it is an ongoing process, not something to be spoken of in the past tense.

Here is the core of orthodoxy:

I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father through Whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His kingdom shall have no end.

And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets.

In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.

I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come.

Amen.
No. you misunderstood what I said. Not against paul at all.

Hard to explain but I literally try to relax the brain tissue/matter where the pain is and think about how it would feel if there was no pain. So instead of thinking about the pain I focus on how great it will feel when the headache goes away and just kind of push it out.

I'm guessing 1/2 of all headaches are mental, not physical. Hangovers don't count, but I really don't get hungover and I can drink to the point of passing out. I may feel tired and cranky the next morning and complain about how bright the sun is  but no real headache.

So honestly, how this started was in High School when someone told me it was mental. So I came up with a way to deal with it. A defense mechanism if you will. I was big into Mario Bros Super Mario. My boss at Pizza Hut at the time had figured out how to get free credits on it, and we would play for hours until we mastered it. SO - what I would do was envision a cartoon Mario Bros who would step into my head if you will and he would apply a 'medicine' to the part of my brain that hurt. Almost like applying plaster. A medicine plaster. Seems goofy but it worked. I still do that sometimes but mostly it is what I said above.

:dunno:

I will try it. I have a lot of headaches. Usually an 800mg Ibuprofen and a cat nap will do it. And it works on hangovers too.

That was my old plan too. My mom had a prescription Ibuprofin at 800 mls. Lots of that over time is not good for you either, as I'm sure you know, but headaches can you drive you insane.

Is yours migraine or more like a pinpoint needle?

Picture Mario with a miner's cart of medicine plaster. He scoops some up and tosses it to the part of your brain that hurts. Almost like he is in a cave or mine shaft. The plaster sticks to the walls. A few tosses here and there and you're good to go. Like I said. Goofy. Almost embarrassing typing that on a guitar forum :D

Not for eternal salvation! I am not pentecostal nor orthodox. I believe Gods word as written, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. The revelation of the mystery was only given to the apostle paul. Before paul the apostles were preaching the kingdom gospel but in the later chapters in the book of acts you see the apostles agree with pauls preaching/teaching. Have you ever wondered why paul calls it " my gospel" in 3 of his epistles. The gospel that paul preached is not the same as the gospel that was being preached before pauls damascus conversion. Ephesians 2: 8 and 9, " For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. There would be no reason for the judgment/bema seat of Christ and no reason to fear the chastening of the Holy Spirit, if we could do whatever we wanted after being saved. The holy spirit killed ananias and saphira on the spot for lying about the money as an example for the early church. They are still saved but were severely chastend by the holy spirit and will lose eternal rewards at the bema seat but still saved. James epistle was written before paul. Of course we live obedient to Christ but not for eternal salvation. But out of sheer thankfulness that God manifest in the flesh paid our entire sin debt with his perfect, holy, shed blood!
Being saved by grace and faith was never some clever free ticket to sin to be exploited like you are trying to scam God. If someone actually thought that at the point of their conversion I would question if they were ever really converted at all. It would not be acknowledging the Kingship of God and it's not repentance. You still have to run the race and bear some fruit demonstrating that the Holy Spirit and God is working in your life to make you "a new creation" so to speak - assuming you live for a fair while after you are saved (thinking about the thief on the cross here who had no chance to do that of course). It is a lifelong process - you never get there because we are still sinful flawed human beings but again it's grossly warped to think you can trick God by saying some insincere words and never intending or attempting to repent - even if repentance itself is the work of the Holy Spirit and God.

I used to have shit tons of migraines, but not so much these days. I can usually feel the part of my head that hurts and it's usually the temple area. I think since I got the Pfizer jab in '21 I've had a low level headache pretty much every day. I don't take the Ibuprofen until I really need it, though I do take it for body aches as well. 55 years old and still doing a pretty physical job. Knees, hands, elbows and back aren't what they used to be.

Tinnitus is my new enemy.
It is getting worse. Was not a big deal before.
I try to keep it at bay and not think about it.
I went to a concert a few months ago and forgot my plugs.
Just started bringing some to shows to try to reduce the impact.
Pantera in Feb was not a problem though - no plugs.
My wife has it worse than I. We sleep with a fan on.
It helps mask it for her, but I think it may just be making it worse.
Which sucks because I like things blowing on me at night.
The Splawn Quick Rod is not helping

Yes I have that problem and riding motorbikes doesn't help either. The wind causes it... so between being a lifetime guitar player and motorbike rider I have bad tinnitus. I do wear earplugs but I hear my tinnitus over just about anything.

Death will cure it... being serious too. That's when it will stop.

I have had the constant humming of cicadas in my head for as long as I can remember. It hasn't gotten any worse. I don't use ear pro on stage or when I'm playing, but I always do when shooting. Other than hunting.

Sucks man.
I used to think, ah...that'll never happen me. Now here I am.

Oh yeah, for target practice for sure. Especially a busy indoor range

I hear (no pun) that on stage, the volume is not nearly as bad/loud as being in the audience.
I wouldn't know :dunno:

When you say cicadas, do you mean the ringing volume goes up and down? I had that as a little kid sporadically. Like 5 to 7 yrs old. Dr. said it was just a part of growing up. I shit you not his name was Dan Needles. Dr. Needles  I mean, what kind of a joke is that - to a kid.

Indoor range ? Public range ? Not a chance brother.

It doesn't increase or decrease in volume. Really it more or less sounds like summer time with a window open at night. 100% of the time.

Cicadas... I get the analogy - it is a bit like that... but mine is pretty constant unlike real cicadas. It varies in the sense that sometimes if I'm concentrating on other things I may temporarily be distracted from it but if I start focusing on it it's always there.

It is constant for me now too, unless I let it sink into my psyche and start thinking about. I try not to let that happen and if I feel/hear it coming on, I immediately counter act it by turning on a TV, or even talking to myself.

But when I was a kid it would grow and swell in volume to a point where it super loud - in my mind. I remember thinking - I hope this is not what the rest of my life is going to be like.

Sounds like the same thing I got. Makes sense. We are Twins. Clearly not identical. And you are older. :ROFLMAO:

Time to go Kemper fellas
GTFOH :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I do know one dude who swears by the Kemper. He's an old Beatle head I know who is also the longtime bassist/musical director for Cyndi Lauper. We have zero in common other than love of The Beatles. You'd probably love him. I mockingly call him Walt Whitman, but he's actually a bad ass bass player and producer named Bill Wittman. Even if he is left of Che Gueverra.

It’s got all the tone and none of the ear damage.
