Cliff modeled Hetfield's MKIIC++ It's now in the AFX2 as the Metallica USA IIC++ amp model.....It will be in the AX8 shortly when it gets a firmware update.

Here's an example by Mikko & you can hear it in the mix at 1:20

Just amp & cab + the actual Mesa EQ built into the AxeFX

Guitarjon also recorded an example

Definitely will give a listen when I've got headphones available. Left mine at work.

Sounds really good to me!
Sure Mesa cant be happy with this unless they are getting a cut.

Yeah, those sure do sound good. I'd like to hear some samples of just guitar though..

At the start of the first vid you hear the guitar by itself....

That is a very very good point LOL I skipped straight to the 1:20 mark because that's where I thought this model kicked in..

Just an FYI, his crunch berries 2C++ currently has a Mark IV power transformer. It blew the orig Nap one a long time ago. Just passing along what I was told. ;)

That clip sounds really bad. Sorry

I guess it's cool for someone who wants to sound like Metallica. :dunno: Sounds kind of trashy to me solo'd but sounded good in the mix.

I just recorded with it tonight. I did Enter Sandman a few months ago so i still had my project files. I overdubbed rhythm only.

Just like on the original recording the guitars sound better in the mix than they do isolated......

The tone in the first vid was dialed in by Mikko to sound good in the mix. Mission accomplished

sound processed as hell..sorry

Agreed....Not a fan.

I could cop similar tones with a $50 j-station

I've heard tube amp clips on here that sound like a j-station......what's the point?

I think it sounds great.

Yeah, so did some others on here until the tube only cork sniffers came a callin'

The tone in the vid was dialed in by Mikko to sound great in the mix like it does at 1:20 of the first vid.

Take any of the isolated guitar tracks from any holy grail recorded tube amp tone from a song & it sounds "totally processed dude"

It sounds great out of the box, but needs a bit of tweaking to sit in a mix. Fun model to play.
