Change the title of the thread to " Mesa MKII 2C++ clip" and everyone will love it.

The scooped Eq settings are what make is sound "processed'. Same thing happens with the a real Mark amp.

sound processed as hell..sorry
If you had just posted the sound clips and said, "Doodz! I just found a MKIIC+ in pawn shop! Holy sh*t! Now I understand what all the fuss is about!!" the d*ckheads +1ing this would be like "Sounds AMAZEBALLS! Score!" there is so much psychology with this stuff. You always get this stuff when someone posts a modeler clip no matter how incredible it sounds. Tons of tube amp tones sound 'processed' in a mix but no one complains because it is 'real'...

I hear raw amp clips that sound like hammered a** here all the time but everyone forms a NAD circle jerk because it is some amp brand of the month. To their credit, though, they don't sound processed.  In fact one thing listening to clips has really hammered home to me is how hard it is to do a good job recording a live amp properly.

I downloaded it. Sounds fine. like everything else in the box. its decent. nothing earthshaking.

So it's kinda like most amp clips on here

It does not sound like an amp. They're getting better though. Digital will never replace tubes and sound as good.

That sounds good & it's mixed with the track well....

What IR are you using with it?

Thanks man. This is actually a converted Kemper profile cab, from one of the Tills stuff. Can send if you want it. It's one of my go to's for metal in general and Mesas in particular, cause I dig saturation and it's got a good low end. I use it a lot for practice.

I agree somewhat. It sounds decent on it's own but sounds a bit mushy to be a Mark series tone. Maybe it's the way the guy is playing. There is a kinda plastic thing about the tone..... :D I know I know. :dunno:

No, not always. Some people here will actually give an honest opinion. Some guys here are friends so they won't give negative views on clips though.

I didn't think that sounded good at all. just goes to show, some people have different...ears...

Sorry man...I just loaded it up real quick and spun some stuff while in between clients. All good, just because I like your clips doesn't mean you have to like mine.

Hey, no offense intended. You just said you threw it together real quick. Not really your best effort then, but then again being honest is the hallmark of respect

Was none taken man, no worries. Thanks for the honesty.

I think it sounds great.

Yeah, so did some others on here until the tube only cork sniffers came a callin'

The tone in the vid was dialed in by Mikko to sound great in the mix like it does at 1:20 of the first vid.

Take any of the isolated guitar tracks from any holy grail recorded tube amp tone from a song & it sounds "totally processed dude"

I didn't think it sounded bad by any mean...but the isolated black album tones sound pretty fantastic imo and it's not quite there.

Yeah, but if an isolated track of multiple amps/tracks mixed together & professionally recorded/eq'd/mixed by Bob Rock & played by Hetfield, does not sound better than some guy recording a clip of a new amp model that he quickly dialed in to his taste & played through a cab IR of his choice.............then we got a headline!

In other words.....it's ridiculous to judge the merits of an amp model based on someones clip, just like it would be crazy to judge a particular tube amp based on a posted clip by someone.

Agreed for the most part, but the comment I was thinking of mostly was "Take any of the isolated guitar tracks from any holy grail recorded tube amp tone from a song & it sounds "totally processed dude""

On the Metallica tracks, you can hear the individual tracks come in and out in places and definitely the effect of the layers, but the whole thing is in another league start to finish. In terms of the average person's ability to get a pretty good sound in a cost effective way without having to involve a Bob Rock or whoever, it's a no-brainer that the Axe is a great way to go. It's also the way I would go if I were in a touring band. But I doubt Bob could sit down with the Axe and an engineer and re-create the tones to sound as good as the original if he were inclined to try. Maybe he could, but I doubt it.

try this conversation on TGP. please :)

RT rules.

True story. I get some what exasperated by the guys on forums that take shit personal. So someone doesn't like an amp you like or album or guitar or whatever and you're a grown man and get butthurt about it? Time to get off the internet. Thankfully I don't see a ton of that here. Some, but goddamn....some of these places you get banned for saying you don't like something.

Thanks RT.
