It's great to watch drunk too... Plus the women's curling team is pretty sexy! Who woulda thunk it!?
I love hearing the girls yell "HARRRRRD!!!!!" "FASTER!!" :D

I've been watching them on mute with a porn sound track going in the background... Sounds like I might have been doing it wrong...

Vlad,
Try a Duncan '59 and see if you feel like it's in the ballpark. I loved the Duncan '59 when I had one in my Warmoth and have just kind of forgotten about them. The Mojave ones are impossible to get and cost $180 which is way too much. And the '78 isn't really a true PAF. You can try a DiMarzio PAF also.

Yeah the '59 was my first choice. Shit, I can't even find the website for Mojave. Is it the amp? Oh fuck it, I'm not even gonna bother with that.

There's some good Dimarzio vintage pickups... that came out the last couple years. I may give them a shot.
Trust me - you're not getting one of those Mojave pickups unless you get it used. I do like mine though...

Did you ever try one of those Tom Holmes pickups? Not that I'm gonna spend $450 on one... Curious if its worth the hype.

Yup, I had one. Great low DC resistance pickup. I like these for the PAF type tone in the bridge, in this order:

1.) Mojave Pickup
2.) Tom Holmes 455
3.) Duncan Custom Shop '78
4.) Voodoo '59
5.) Duncan Antiquities
6.) Duncan '59

Steve

chubtone did a paf pick up shootout somewhere
the 59 held it's own
I put a 59 in my guitar replacing the jb I had
As far as I'm concerned the 59, with fingers that don't suck, will sound great

getting tips on how to do 4 finger tapping and recessed wammy tricks....

Naw man, Tom Keiffer from Cinderella hates Kip and does not hang there for Curt to hound and pester. Last time I saw Curt was at the Mustang Corral trolling the pony boys dissing the new 32v quad overhead cam 5.0

Oh yeah I remember that shoot-out. They all sounded great. I thought the '59 could hang. I remember thinking that.

You should try a High Order 8.7k Asymmetrical A2. Its just as good as my Duncan '78 but half the price.

I had an 8.3K A2 from High Order and it was quite nice as well...

Steve

Try a Duncan Custom Custom or Custom 5...they're like PAF's on steroids IMO. The Dimarzio Virtual Hot PAF is very cools as well

Ya know? I tried a Custom Custom many years ago. Not sure if it was because the of the guitar or amp, but it had zero balls....

Virtual Vintage Hot PAF... that's it. I couldn't remember the name of it.

I may try that pickup then. Thanks for the info. I kinda know what to expect from a '59. I know it's good. I can ALWAYS go to that.

I have a Blissterbucker here that I'll be putting in a strat but I'm also itching to try a Seth Lover. Anybody using the McLover in a strat? I know Blues Saraceno has an EB Albert Lee with two Seths in it that sounds killer...
