Hey RT fuck bois

A few years back I tried the new modelled "Tone master" Fender Twin Reverb Fender since you like Twin Reverbs. Compared to my valve Hot Rod Deville 212 and all the Twin Reverbs I ever remember playing it had no oomph. My Hot Rod Deville actually moves some air and feels like the bass notes punch you in the stomach. The Tonemaster was very two dimensional. I was ready to lay down some cash for it (who doesn't want a lighter twin reverb...) but I walked away from it after spending some time trying it. It had a lot of promise but I didn't think it delivered. It didn't sound like a valve amp to me.
I knew that was going to be the case. There is no way I can set it on 10 with the treble on 10 and it's going to give the same sound. No way. Solid state sucks for the most part save for a few special amps. The tone master bullshit is definitely flavor of the month gear right now. I get sick of people gushing over it. It's junk. I doubt any of it will be around 15 years from now. A hot rod is head shoulders above those. No comparison.

If you wanted a Twin I would look for a late 60's or early 70's SF and have a good tech go through it. Might even pay to keep it a silverface considering your playing style, but the blackface mod is pretty simple. There are tons of Twins around here from about 800-1200 bucks. I paid 500 for a 1972 back in '18 using tip money from gigs. Not sure how the Aussie market is but there has to be a few since it's one of the most popular amps of all time.

There are lots of places to watch it, Texas would be towards the bottom of my list
True, I forget the path runs close to MA. The only potential benefit is that TX has more clear days. But if I were you, yeah, I'd probably opt for VT or something. Well, guess you and Arch will have to plan on a meet n' greet next time around :ROFLMAO:

I’m planning on just standing outside at work and having a cigarette. Eclipses don’t do it for me

As I told VB it's cooler than you'd imagine. I think he's missing out not making a point to go since he's so close. You just have to experience it to know what I'm talking about. Time to pack up the kids, a tent, some sleeping bags and go camp out on Arch's cactus ranch.
If you can give him some pointers mixing clean guitars he'll charge you more for your campsite LOL.

It's not just any eclipse but whatever

Given his comments, he's not actually interested in space. A mild enthusiast of most anything at least has a grasp on the basics of their interests. It's just the shill flavor of the week. It would be hysterical if it weren't so sad.

Oh FFS. How could you know? And you are the biggest "space" fan here! ...Guess you prefer the make believe stuff over the real deal ??‍?

It’s definitely not something I would travel to see. I just don’t really find them to be very interesting.

Traveling forward in time is one thing, but traveling back in time is just silly
Time travel is more believable than a moon landing, just saying. I'd love to go back a few decades I'm just short on flux capacitors. I should stand on my toilet while hanging pictures more often.

Time dilation is very real. Happens everyday. It’s not time travel like in the movies but it’s definitely a thing. But it only moves forward

They primed me with movies since I was a kid to believe I can go back to 1955 so I think you're wrong. Since you aren't a true believer I'm keeping all the vintage Gibsons for myself then.

I’m not a big movie guy. I used to watch a ton of old westerns with my grandfather, so I was primed to think there was a good chance of someone I know dying in quicksand. So far I’ve been pretty let down.

Jeez guys. GPS literally proves time dilation every second of the day. Pull your heads out lol

GPS is fake ground based and weather balloon based radar, not satellites. I don't believe in it as it's sold to me.
