-high gain German gas-

I have to amend my former statement regarding the FB100 that I made earlier. After not having played it for a while I decided to plug it in just a bit ago and clean boosted with a TS9, the amps gain around 11 o' clock to noon, master cranked, and lead volume set to ears bleeding, its extremely fucking RAW and nasty.

-the FIREBALL is an amp that I always thought I'd have again, I always look for them on the forums, if I saw one at a "price I couldn't refuse" I'd definitely grab it, here's what I'm thinking about what I would do, V-30's & XC35's, or V-30's & ANNIE's..

-the Savage is interesting, seems to have a mid snarl that the low mid voiced fireball didn't, I've been impressed with the retro, but I'm not sure if its raw enough, I've never played one,

-I also had a uber rev, 2 green, great amp, but just not for me, had a dullness to it I hear in most bogners,

-the mesa mark series might be an option, had a mark IV, but it was a long time ago, it was my first non-marshall, I know I didn't give it a fair chance, I think I flipped it with in a month, I like the tone of TMM's modded MK III,

-I haven't heard any of the KRUSE mods, other than de-comp mod,..


Can't speak for the difference between the 60 and 120 Savage;never played a 60, but I've got 6550's in my 120 and its nice and crunchy.
-I've had pit bull, great amp, hmmmm.

-oh one more thing, I run a stereo rig, the other amp is a WIZARD MC I updated to a MC II.

-I'm leaning towards FRAMUS, MARK III, SAVAGE-(is there a voicing difference between the 60 & 120watter's, the 60 runs EL34's, the 120 KT88's?)-VHT,... dudes! I'm running out of amps!!.. Oh what about the ARCHON!.. its definitely got the low end, but does it got the growl?

Never played the Savage 60 but my 120 still has the stock 6550s with a swapped cocktail of preamp tubes and its nice and crunchy. Haven't had the desire to try KT88s in it yet.
 
Retro Tube and Artist Edition are pretty raw as far as Engl goes.

Yes exactly, German amps are kinda stereotyped to be more polished/less raw sounding, so it doesn't seem like the best idea to only look there if you want a raw, gritty sound
 
-I mentioned German because I was hoping there was an amp out there that has that distinctive German voicing, but not as polished, I like the sustain, that violin like tone, but not as refined, I'm thinking something other than V-30's might be the ticket. Didn't the FRAMUS cabs came with greenbacks? Maybe that's what set them apart tone wise from all the other's
 
if you want something that hangs with a Diezel though not same

The new Diezels like Dmoll/Paul they have changed the voicing a bit to be more raw less compressed as one of the comments in their forum
