Holdsworth book part 2

Well I’ve been working on the book In The Mystery by Brett Stine for 2 months now - having a blast and super inspired by all I’m learning. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Allan’s playing. Brett breaks it down nicely and it’s really took me in a different writing direction. Here’s the 2nd tune I just finished. A 3rd is also finished and a 4th in the works, so again having a blast with this Again using my LTD TE-200 into a loop selector - one side goes to my SD-1 for the overdrive tones, other side into my Zoom Multistomp with EQ/compressor/chorus for the clean tone. Amp is my Blankenship Masterplex set to about AC/DC level gain. cab is Marshall 1960BX with Eminence XV-75’s.

One of the several sounds I'm chasing are Holdsworth's; his clean swell, and the sax/violin lead tones. I know my limits, so playing any Holdsworth is not going to happen. I can't play things I could play even 5 years ago, no less in my prime, thanks to arthritis.

thanks man!! Yeah aging is tough, I play a lot and just hope my hands keep working lol I really appreciate Holdsworth - even more after spending time in this book. I wasn’t trying to sound like him, just getting some new harmonic pallets to work with. But jeez to look at the transcriptions, the theory behind it AND he was probably improvising - it’s freaking insane lolol
