Well, with the gf buying me the 5150 III I had to go buy a new cab today. I previously had one of these heads when they came out with the matching 212 cab and I wasn't a big fan of the cab, it just felt cheapish to me. So I headed to gc today with the intentions of buying an orange 212( I a 212 fan) I didn't bring the EVH bc the 6505 is close enough so I used one of their heads and an EBMM axis they had on hand. Plugged it all in and was fairly impressed with the orange, plus I figured the orange will take a lot of other heads well so it was a no brainer…until out of the corner of my eye I spied a small clearance area with an all black 212,couldn't see the brand from where I sat. Went over to check it out and it turned out to be a PRS Stealth cab, loaded with vintage 30's just like the orange. Originally these were tagged for 700! I paid less for this on clearance than you can buy the speakers for, and its brand new!
The biggest surprise came when I plugged it in. It sounded better than the orange! Fuller, more bottom end and tighter, couldn't believe it. They have one more and I might go back this weekend and pick it up. It sounds sooooo good. They also had the older PRS heads on clearance for more than half off, I almost left with one of those too. So since I thought I was spending over 750 today on a cab I actually have an extra 500 instead to toss towards another guitar
