How does the quality of these guts look to you guys?

"Triple Soldered"...because the first two attempts obviously didn't hold. That's the BB motto.

I am far from recomending any Blades amp... But they look no worse inside than old Fenders.

Here is a nice thread showing some gut shots of fender. Looks pretty messy to me. I wonder if anyone owns one in this thread? viewtopic.php?f=3&t=169039

Someone has been inside that amplifier. That is not stock wiring.

As far as the blades amp goes above - give me a chopstick and I can see two locations that I can push on that will cause it to fail.

Stay away from his amplifiers if you intend to have any form of reliability or functionality.

Here is an interesting article about wiring. Of course soldering the wiring is important too and it seems Blades has issues with this as well.

The Myth: Neat wiring layouts always equate to great-sounding amps.

The Makers: On one hand, an extremely tidy wiring job might imply conscientious work in general, and that in itself is a good thing. But pure neatness in and of itself does not a toneful amp make.

“A lot of people love to see a chassis layout with wires that are real straight, and then a 90-degree bend, and then straight,” says Mark Bartel. “We used to call that ‘Manhattan wiring’ in the old days [in reference to the street grid]. I think that looks beautiful, but in two ways it is not ideal, really. From an engineering perspective, it doesn’t necessarily give you the best layout with the lowest parasitics [where noise from power lines stray into signal lines]. Just practically, it doesn’t always result in the best sounding layout. I got to talking to Bill Krinard from Two-Rock about this a lot, where we agree that sometimes the messy layouts just sound better. Of course, you can’t just make a random messy layout and expect it to sound better. The point is that wiring does have an effect on the sound, and just making it look neat on paper isn’t going to give you the best sound.”

Where's TT-500?
Probably a recent new addition to R/T under a different name. I think he got banned....I'm sure if he were still here he'd be accusing anyone ripping on Blades to be a Cameron fan. Which, if you played any of his modded marshalls you would be too.. but I digress....

TT-500 got very emotional about Blades amps makes you wonder ..

To be honest, looks like a project amp. One of my builds looks a bit like that but I think I left more space between some components where as blades stuffs a lot together. His soldering looks sloppy and I am pretty sure in some places rather than wiring to a turret, he has probably just wired to one end of a lead so some of the stuff is "floating" a bit and could move around but it is better than his first incarnation that is for sure. The one thing I think we should all remember, is that a lot of vintage amps look like spaghetti on the inside and people praise them for their mojo and because they are vintage. The YBA-1 I modded was pretty damn messy and if it were all new wires and an eyelet or turret board, you guys would think I/it/ the manufacturer was a hack. That amp was super quiet once I replaced the filter caps and it sounded great. I wish I never sold it to fund some wood stairs. Anyway, my point is that Blades is a dick and a big mouth and maybe he deserves the scrutiny because compared to most modders and small amp builders here, his quality VISUALLY looks like crap. but if it isn't noisy and unsafe and everything is grounded as it should be, if you can score a good "project" modded marshall for a good price, why not? The only downside here is that those god aweful cosmetics and shitty headcabs are doing exactly the opposite of drawing attention away from the guts of the amp lol. Also don't forget that most people don't feel like building from the ground up.. I wouldn't have time nowadays to build from the ground up. Too much stuff going on.

I wouldn't risk it unless you feel like checking every solder joint-that looks like pretty sloppy work to me. As Scumback Speakers mentioned, good wiring isn't that difficult as long as your take your time and work carefully.

Even ISIS switched to using Blades Amps because they explode better than their usual improv explosives.

Want to see crazy wiring... Looks at Metalhead amp mods. Elan's mods are highly revered and sound killer...but Blades work looks clean compared to his. I'm curious to see how people react when they see the pictures in the link. Haha

crazy wiring! Love the tube sticking out the side... though in a pinch, what the hell, guess it would work.

That's ridiculous! Did he not have a wire cutter?

I really wonder how it sounds though!
