How is this possible? Itunes / Music can't find cover art.

I'm trying to add cover art for Metallica's Master of Puppets and it gives me the Black album. How the f--- is this possible? An album that sold 8 million copies, and Itunes / Music can't find the correct art?

Also, the new "Music" app thing sucks. The old Itunes was much better. I was so disappointed to discover that OS10 Monterery will not allow you to use Itunes. I miss being able to do a simple search for an artist and all the songs will show up on one list.

the cover art thing is strange, but you can still view all your music like before.
you need to select library>SONGS on the left bar.
alt+cmd+f you get the search pop up on the upper right, or you can use the column browser which is still there (but needs to be enabled).

If all else fails, why not select all the songs on the album and delete the current pic/s?

You can then easily drag new images to the edit window. Just web-search the cover art.

FWIMBW, I've never even once relied on the automated process for cover art. DuckDuckGo search -> Drag to desktop -> Set image dimensions (I go 1400 x X) and size (I always go small 'cause a copy gets embedded in each MP3 file) using Preview -> Drag to edit window.

I should say that I've not had to move to the Music app yet, but it's coming when I finally upgrade my 2012 cheese grater. Point being that I don't know whether or not my practices described above are still-possible with the new app.

Still possible with the music app!

Awesome; thanks man.

I'm a "manual" kinda guy. :dunno:
Well lot's artwork is missing in my library somehow, but the auto function used to work at some point. So i am back top manual myself, but i don't really care if my phone shows an album artwork in my pocket if the screen get somehow activated;)

This is unrelated and won't help at all as I have Android, but my Cloud Player app shows all cover art for everything - including my 11 Metallica albums. :duuno:

Granted, I literally ripped over 200 CDs (not all at once) and put them on my phone manually as MP3s. That way, if the internet is weak or nonexistent I can still have my tunes. But I believe the app searches the internet for the art and add it post paste.

Yeah, I'm going to try to do it manually. I know, it's a first world problem, but how is it that Apple cannot find Master of Puppets artwork? I don't use the auto art thing because it always finds the wrong art on about 30% of my albums.
