How long do you wait before you officially call out someone

What a load of shit. I found his wife's facebook page and Todd looks to be in good health. He smashed his pinky a couple weeks ago, but that doesn't constitute a 3 week hospital stay.

I can cross Todd Grissmeyer (1meanplexi) off my list of good guys to do business with. GTFO of the gear game if you're not going to do it right.
 
Maybe it's time to msg his wife. Doubt she knows her husbands a scumbag thief.

Normally I would say never bring family into personal problems but when it comes to wives and gear......Message her :lol: :LOL: You may get your money the same day.

I have only had a couple of bad deals online and most were resolved and nothing too bad but one of those instances ended up with me calling their home at midnight a couple of times and the issue was resolved right away after the wife found out.

Do what you have to do man, sometimes people get worse for things like this.

That is another thing, he has a good amount of posts.

You start learning the names and people here after a while. Some better than others but I was kind of surprised to see it was him TBH.

Hopefully he just steps up and makes good. I doubt anyone would hold any animosity.
 
If the shipper got a damage claim check from Fedex, he would get that unless he assigned the claim to the recipient (the OP).

He could have done that and you'd have the check already.

Obviously that didn't happen, he deposited the check, and is buying new gear with it.

IMO, if he's telling the truth about the check, he got paid, and decided not to pay the OP.

I've done enough damage claims with Fedex to know this much about it.

IMO, the guy is scrambling for excuses and cash.
 
I hate fedex.

I told a seller NOT TO PACK my quad of blackbacks with peanuts as it pushes in the cones. He gets fedex to ship them. Sure enough they put flexable see through plastic over the cone, and outside that..Mountains of peanuts. Obvioulsy the weight of the magnets and the shifting peanuts pushed in every single cone to the point they were all ripped.

half a century old speakers, the same ones used by AC/DC, got ruined by an idiot seller who's excuse was "Fedex would only insure them if they used peanuts".

I'm still mad and it happened a year ago.
 
I tend to wait until I hear both sides of the story and try not to jump to conclusions (hence why I hadn't posted). The time span was the biggest issue. But now that there has been at least a version of the other side, this whole thing stinks. Hopefully Grissmeyer realizes that he can still make things right here.

And lesson learned, make sure both parties know EXACTLY how things will go down if there are shipping issues before the deal is closed (i.e. the shipper initiates refund immediately and then dukes it out with carrier).
 
Selling, buying, and trading gear on a community forum is all about TRUST. Thousands of dollars change hands everyday in the classifieds and this is no small matter. We all continue to do it because we trust each other and when someone betrays that trust, he should be called out right away. It is the sellers responsibility to keep the buyer posted throughout the process. Heck, I even feel bad if I am not able to ship the following day after payment.

Why has he not responded to this thread and explain himself? :thumbsdown:
 
When I had my FedEx claim ( a bray modded plexi ) they did not keep the amp they just sent a representative over he left and a check was sent to the shipper..ask him to contact his bank and request a copy of the deposited check since the claim went to 1500.00 to 500.00 ..sorry for your troubles

The hospital thing is always either the first or 2nd excuse. Another one is " My internet service was suspended and I don't know why". Oh another one is " My home, or place of business, was flooded and I lost everything" See with that excuse they misdirect blame and throw it back on you for being a jerk when they're all helpless and vulnerable.

I got the flood excuse one from a dude on here...thought I was the only one that got that BS, held up the sale a few days, guitar arrives with a broken head stock...
 
I wonder if the hospital he was in had a real bad flood that wiped out the wifi
 
Update: Todd sent me some money today. We've kept in contact over the phone. Not sure if this thread had something to do with it or not, but I appreciate the community. I don't hold any ill feelings towards Todd. Probably just an unfortunate situation gone awry. Thanks again.
