FWIW, I just shipped an amp that arrived DOA and this is Reverb's policy.

I initiate a 'conditional refund'.
Buyer packs amp and tells me weight/dimensions of package
I generate (and pay for) a return shipping label
Buyer affixes label and ships
Once I get it back the refund is finalized

I'd never heard of 'conditional refund' until now. But as the seller I can see why it's there. Luckily it's a tiny combo so all that shipping I ate wasn't too bad.

I had both my knees replaced at the same time 3 yrs ago. I was home in 3 days, and yes they have free WiFI in every hospital. Bullshit in this lame excuse.

This is what I was thinking. If your in the hospital for 3 weeks now a days, you have some serious issues and your medical bills would be outrageous. Sorry but it's very severe to be hospitalized for 3 weeks. Sorry if there's something really wrong, but not sounding like that's the case. You can also open a cc, connect it to Paypal and pay funds at worst case scenario. So then you get your money and the debt is back on him. Many work arounds, and all phones have interenet. Excuses are like assholes right??

Yea...it certainly seems the other dude spent operating capitol, at the expense of the OP. Not a wise business move....if you don't have the cash to back a deal...don't do the deal.

Whether the guy was laid up or not...to sell the mans amp, and then force him to finance his other gear trades, the whole while not bothering to communicate...? I agree, it's a bullshit move, and enough to stay away from any dealings with him.

maybe you'll get the balance of what you're owed. Should be some penalty and interest rolled in...you ain't the fucking BOA.

to the OP....have you reached out to the moderators for some assistance? while the site is under no obligation for transactions, we used to intervene when i was a mod, kurt, kage and others too, to be a go between with both parties, especially when one flew the coop and wasn't talking to the other and things turned to rat shit. maybe PM the mods and see if they can at least get him talking and get your money back, and overcome the shame.

If the shipper got a damage claim check from Fedex, he would get that unless he assigned the claim to the recipient (the OP).

He could have done that and you'd have the check already.

Obviously that didn't happen, he deposited the check, and is buying new gear with it.

IMO, if he's telling the truth about the check, he got paid, and decided not to pay the OP.

I've done enough damage claims with Fedex to know this much about it.

Sounds exactly what he is/has been doing.. Freaking Bullshit! Where I have lived now for the past 16 months out here in the country I have met 10 people tops,so no music business for me out here,but I rely on forums for word of mouth on many different things from gear to just reading up on facts and opinions,and for selling/buying gear and I always want to believe people are going to do right,gotta start somewhere,somehow and BS like this ruins it for lots of people..I haven't sold on this forum yet but I have on 4-5 others and it has to always stay 100% satisfied or do whatever it takes to make it right,no bullshit excuses,Git er dun or get the Fuck out!
