trying to give the guy another chance. maybe he will see this and get his shit together. if not, then I will release the info. :(

Jan 1st this started?? You have way more patience than I do OP. I do agree that its a little strange he sold the Fokker without the transaction being completed. If I trade with someone I dont consider the goods my own until everything is finalized on both ends. Rottingcorpse' approach should be the norm and not the exception. Unfortunately thats not always the case.

So he basically has his amp, your amp and a $1500 check from fed ex? That's F'd up for sure.

and you said he has had bad transactions on here before?

Him selling your amp is pretty fucked up. Especially when you were not yet compensated. That's just being a selfish prick.

hm...well...you have his name and address. and hopefully a reciept of sale/serial #/some proof that you owned what you sent him? and reciepts/proof for the check and stuff? that's not just a few hundred dollars - call the police and try to file some kind of fraud charges? ....or again - you have his address.... ;) lol

yeah, that's pretty tough. I think my name on here is more important than a single deal. I made trade not too long ago, traded a guitar for an amp. The guitar arrived and had some damage, so I offered to undo the deal, but the guy loved the guitar, so I ended up just paying for the repair plus giving $500 due to the loss of value of a repaired guitar he'd face if/when he sold it. He didn't ask for it, but I thought it was the right thing to do. We've traded in the past and I'm sure we'll trade again in the future and that is more important than trying to stick someone on a 1 time deal. I think most people on here realize that, not sure what someone is thinking in trying to stiff another. Maybe it's just laziness, procrastination or maybe they are actually just dirtbags.

Even when I buy or sale something on Reverb or CL, I usually give them my name on here and Sevenstring and ask if they are on the sites as well. It's an extra layer of comfort knowing someone trades on here, because this kind of thing doesn't seem to happen very much (that I know of anyway) and it's a community built on repeated trusted deals.

No, sorry, what I had written may have been confusing.

What I meant was, since the time of this transaction, he has posted 3 different "New Gear Day" posts with new gear.
I don't know if he traded things or has outright purchased them, but IMO, that is the incorrect way of going about your business.
If it were me, I would make sure the party (me in this case) who has an issue pending, would complete said transaction prior to getting any new gear. It just seems unethical to me.

I had an amp arrive damaged by Fedex they sent a an agent over to look at the damage and then they sent a check for the full insurance to the shipper ( he scanned me a copy of the check received before he deposited it and then transferred the money to me) the FedEx agent said they do not want to keep merchandise and usually settle ..I'm not sure why this dude thought he should sell your amp and get his back along with a check ...he is screwing you day by day ..I would like to know so I do not do any transcations with this scammer...this sucks

Not fucking cool at all.

I'll we have here is our names and reputation. This type of shit shouldn't slide or be tolerated.

Out him.

Even if he eventually makes good, this is someone I don't want to deal with.

Other than a gentleman's honor, what is to keep this guy from not giving the OP back a single penny?

Loss of a website user name?

Loss of RT forum cred?

A (into the who cares file..) police report filed in the guys city of Yuknuk Alaska?

Whole thing blows.

To the OP:

A Fedex claim is a two-three week process. After that it's resolved. I've done enough of them from other sellers doing poor packing jobs and shady deals to know in the last 20 years.

At this point, you need to out the seller so no one else gets treated like this.

And I mean, all of it...screen name, real name, address, phone #, email address, etc...ALL OF IT.

You really should have posted this info weeks ago, and especially after that first NGD thread.

Sorry you have to deal with this. Is the seller in Los Angeles?

If he sold your amp after the trade, he's had the funds to pay you back. He's a dick...

-I hate this shit-

-I've never had a bad transaction @ RIG TALK, this is the only place I've ever done an even swap with no safety net, crazy I know, and the swap wasn't for a pack of string's, it was a WIZARD MC II for a FRIEDMAN JJ..

-OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!!

I've never had a bad transaction on here either. I had an amp arrive damaged that was ZERO fault of the seller and he STILL helped me a ton. The only way society works without 1984-style government oversight of everything is for there to be accountability.
