Hey guys!

Any tips for cleaning the satin PRS's? Would lemon or orange oil be okay? Perhaps something different? Thanks!

Matt

i have an se satin and i just use pledge. it works well. then again, i am not worried about it at all. on a side note, i have turned the neck and the spot where a les paul pickguard goes, into a very high polish, from playing. weird. it works just the opposite on satin guitars.

Yeah I'm thinking my usual orange pledge oil will do fine. I'll just do a test spot first. Thanks for your input peaveyT60!

Which guitar? If its nitro satin, I'd be careful using much of anything. I just wipe mine down with a slightly damp rag. I've actually heard lemon oil can mess up the nitro satin, so I wouldn't try it without contacting PRS 1st. Shine or glazing on nitro satin can be removed with 0000 steel wool(lightly rub with the grain) or equivalent scotchbrite pad(I think they're white).

They almost always respond within a day when you email. custserv@prsguitars.com

Yup.

Thanks for the info guys! PRS got back to me (within 24 hours)...here's what they had to say:

Hi Matt,

Thank you for writing to Paul Reed Smith Guitars. Some good quality furniture polish will work to clean up any gunky build up on your satin Singlecut. Keep in mind if you vigorously polish the guitar, the satin finish will turn into a gloss finish.

Thank you for your continued support of Paul Reed Smith Guitars. I hope you find this information helpful.

So I'll start with a damp gloss then apply a touch of orange oil at a later time.
