I actually have a radiology appointment tomorrow to check my liver. I managed to wreck my liver due to drinking myself into oblivion over a 3.5 year period. Wish me luck.
Drink the juice of a lemon every morning on an empty stomach and eat or drink nothing for half an hour afterwards.

Your liver will rebuild and reach 100% functionality within 3 months.

Fact. Thank me later.

PS
"Unfortunately" this all but eliminates hangovers 'cause when the liver's operating at peak efficiency it eats up the work and asks for more.

Might be a little hard on the tooth enamel though, lol.

I love lemons but gotta limit my intake for that reason. Meyer lemons for the win, a lemon of unparalleled deliciousness.

Indeed, Meyers rule bro'.

Easy solution:
Rinse one's mouth out with water afterwards and spit it out. Do it twice for extreme dilution.

Works 100%. Problem solved.
I do that every time but I still get sensitive teeth. My solution was to swish coconut oil which helps protect them but I still gotta keep a lid on the lemon eating, lol.

"Lemon eating" - definitely a problem for some including myself.

The drinking - easily done. Don't swish, just give it a direct path down your gullet, then rinse with fresh water and spit as many times as you feel is necessary.

A fridge full of Meyers?

Oh man. I'm lucky if I manage to score a handful of lemons every 6 months.

Don't tell me to grow them. I tried for 3 years and watched my Eureka and Meyer trees die slowly. Hard-clay "soil" and I didn't have the energy or strength to dig decent-enough holes in order to create sufficiently-large compost pits.

I appreciate the tip! I do love me some lemons. Every once in a while I get major cravings for lemons. I will peel a whole lemon and chomp it down lol.

I wish. I am rarely able to procure them. I do love the overwhelming sour-ness of a sunkist imported from Mexico.

I'm with you. Bacon and lemons is one of my favorite breakfasts.

I'm a massive sucker for bacon. And all the italian meats especially prosciutto. God I love it. But I have been meaning to cut down on pork products, as my GF won't eat it and pork is probably the worst when it comes to growth hormones and all that poison.

Same. I try to shoot a couple deer each year since it's cheap and the meat is leaner and more organic. I don't wanna brag but I make some killer smoked venison jerky oh yeah!!!

It's been a very long time since I've had venison. I did try bison a few months ago for the first time and honestly I loved it. I didn't shoot the creature myself though lol.

Love venison. It's all about the fat for me, same with lamb. No other red meats can compete with their fat flavours IMHO.

Never had bison. Isn't a bison genetically the same (same family / kind) as beef cattle? I imagine it'd be a tad leaner due to its "wild", as opposed to domesticated status.

Couple o' quick tips / facts on the lemon thing:

The liver rebuilds itself every 90 days. This is why I said 3 months.
When I said it'll take you to 100% efficiency, remember that most peeps are prolly operating at about 50 to 70% in my estimation.
Even if you drop below 10%, which seems to be a trigger for replacement surgery, it'll still rebuild fully.
The liver loves bitter and hates sweet. Bear this in-mind when navigating the general thrust of your diet for the rest of your life.
During the first week or two you might experience nausea a little after your dose. This is just the liver throwing off toxins into your bloodstream 'cause it's literally received a turbo boost to do its job. Resist drinking water or ingesting anything for half an hour after the daily dose, as I suggested earlier. You won't throw up.

That's all for now OTTOMH.

I recall the bison steaks having a rather similar texture to beef, being able to cook the same way (rare to medium rare is how I cooked mine) but with a slight gamey taste to it but definitely not over powering. The ground bison was more gamey in comparison. It’s likely how it’s fed, and in the case of lamb the gamey taste is dependent on how it’s fed IIRC.

Thank you again for the tip! I do actually need to stock up on lemons. ‘Tis the beginning of the month so usually when I do my grocery shopping and stock up on a lot of things lol.

Going thru it with alcohol. I’m a bourbon guy. Average half a 750 daily and several times a month more than that. Always feel like shit until that next afternoon/evening comes around. “Only” had 8 oz last night and woah feeling weird already. Gonna try the wean down method. Anyone gone thru it? Any tips or tricks? Dr recommended rehab but I know I would fail in my current mindset. I don’t want to quit. But I do want to cut waaaaay back. Motivated to do that.

Glad to hear you've knocked this down significantly. That's a lot
Keep it up. You may get to a point where you don't miss it all. I can go weeks without drinking but I do like to drink on the weekends - especially at the cabin or if I'm having company over, etc.
Glad you were able to get some good advice in this thread.

@Stumplegriltskin - that was good stuff you posted.
@lol - how did your test go?
I quit smoking 2 packs a day with that Chantex? Worked wonders. I still like to have a cigar every now and then - but unfortunately, when I drink my discipline goes down.
I was recently diagnosed with Alpha-gal (red meat) Syndrome so no more mammal meat for me - which sucks. Celiac Disease as well :(
Otherwise, my blood and vitals are all good.

Keep us posted on your progress. My dad has been in AA and NA for many many years and he keeps going because he has made friends and he is a very social person. But as mentioned, everyone's journey is different.
