If you’re a fairly heavy drinker (of Bourbon) don’t just stop. You have to ween off alcohol especially if you’re older. Alcohol and benzo’s are two categories of depressants that can actually kill you if you go cold turkey. Do you know your blood sugar and do you smoke?
I’m a former nurse…so.

Thanks! See the Dr. tomorrow. Curious to see if he's as pumped as I am...
Way to stick with it. Once you get on the wagon - PLEASE stay on. I have a family member that has been a liar and manipulator. Constantly hurting my nephews through her actions, putting my Dad thorugh hell. Lied right to my face.. and she has done 30 day rehabs & fallen off the wagon several times now.
Sounds like you are doing way better than that - difference is you WANT to fix it. Stay the course & good luck!

Not a smoker. I’ve been weening down a week at a time. Down to 2 oz!!

Glucose is good as well. Only thing abnormal was liver enzymes (as to be expected).
Believe it or not ALT/ALP/AST are low priority (unless you’re in organ failure). The more critical concern is stabilizing the sympathetic nervous system, and not developing a clot as your body adjusts to not having the alcohol thinning the blood.

Haha now you scared me. Not sure if you read the entire post.....did I ween down in a safe manner? Sleep patterns have improved drastically! Was not good at first.

Appreciate the medical insight
It’s why there’s so many commercials for rehab… depending on how much and how long, it’s better to have some supervision so you don’t wind up in the ER… and it happens a lot. I’ve had some stretches with booze, where I basically triple Lindy’d off the wagon. A 10y chip and now a 5y. So I’ve been there. …The pandemic.

I appreciate the tip! I do love me some lemons. Every once in a while I get major cravings for lemons. I will peel a whole lemon and chomp it down lol.
Also double strength milk thistle will also work wonders to detox your liver. About 900 mgs a day is good! Supplement brand ' now ' is a quality company.

Supplements are a gimmick.

Supplements can have very real, tangible benefits and also side effects if abused. But the effects are real. Creatine monohydrate is an example. Taken properly along with good nutrition and training, it can create rapid strength gains beyond what would be possible without a supplement. And it is one of the most thoroughly tested sports supplements of all in recent decades.

There are vitamins/minerals in almost everything we consume, only some foods also bring sugar/salt/fat along for the party. Targeted use of supplements brings only the good. And prescription medicines often contain some of same ingredients found in supplements, only in higher dosage.

Too many people are of the mindset that simply losing weight or stopping bad habits such as smoking/drinking/drugs by any means possible makes you "healthy". The program is incomplete unless it includes regular exercise and effective sleep. Doesn't even have to be strenuous exercise, but everyone needs regular movement. Get off the couch. Turn off your computer/phone.

Speaking of which, I'm going to the gym for my 1.5 - 2 hr strength/cardio session RIGHT NOW.
