I run a small amp company out of my home shop in NJ. I’ve posted links on this thread to my website, socials, my company is in my signature. You can google it (or click the link) and see exactly who I am & what I build. I am not sure what else I can do. There are a ton of clips/pics of my builds/mods at those links. Not an easy business to be in by any means, trying to get my company out there, while making otherwise unobtainable gear obtainable to those interested, without spending $3-$5k usd on one of the 18 original units built. In fact I think there is an original unit for sale on reverb right now for about $4k. I know there are people (as you can see) who are interested in these preamps from previous threads on here and other forums.

Not being a dick but I will always look out for my Rigtalk homies. Plus I never received a request from you to do this or approval from management either. Not a big deal though honestly. As long as you’re legit and upfront with folks that is all I care about. And kudos for having the skills to do this. Most impressive.

Slowly chipping away at the first unit while I’m waiting on some parts to come in for repairs I have in the shop. I was able to retain use of the shallow chassis by ditching the initially populated board & going with a point to point setup. Was really the only way I could utilize the chassis for this build with the parts I have in stock. I haven’t installed the rotary yet, not sure if I’m going to, at least on this first build. If anyone has played through an original pre, you’ll know that rotary knob doesn’t do much. One thing I did add is a push pull treble pot that acts as a mid boost which the original unit doesn’t have. This is an old Laney mod they put in those old AOR heads. Should add some nice upper mid bite if wanted. Pushed in will be the stock setup. Also a note regarding the shielded cable runs - Morin (as well as a lot of modders back then) hot shielded all the runs - meaning the shield was tied to the plates which is where the high voltage resides. I did not hot shield any of the runs because I don’t like the idea of B+ voltage anywhere near the input jack. Excited to see how this first build stacks up against the OG. More updates soon. Test unit is just about done besides some shielding I have to install, clean up some runs, etc. but she’s running great, the voltages throughout the unit are within a percent or two of where they’re at in the original preamp which plays a big role. Sounds indistinguishable from the original Morin pre I have. Have some repairs and one of my amps I need to get out to some customers this week but will post better clips soon.
Clip is via my 100w prototype (power section), and the Morin preamp clone. First clip is through 6402 greenbacks, beta 57a IR of one of my cabs, the second one is via a Mikko 2 mesa IR

Brandon (Soldaners) is the real deal. The only guy who knows more about Morin circuits is Mike himself.
If you're interested in the Morin preamp, I wouldn't hesitate to buy one of his clones.

Here’s a clip playing the infamous XYZ riff. L/R straight in (6402 cone greenbacks, beta 57a IR I made of my 1960b cab) using one of my amps that’s in for some circuit updates underneath it for power section EL34 based, 50w. Using a metro Zero loss fx loop. The amp has stiffer power section filtering, not that it’s really noticeable in a cellphone clip but worth noting I suppose! Marshall style LTP PI. Don’t know what cab/speakers were used on the XYZ record but sounds pretty close off the rip I think. Don’t have a cover on for the pilot light which is why it looks super bright.
