It was almost free lolThey are $100-$200 basses at best.
Don't put flats on it dude.
Strings that are on it sound good enough for what i'll be using it for

That's the plan. And thanks for the recommendation. To the OP, a buddy of mine put Duncan QPs in a Squire and it ripped. That's his recording bass. I'd rewire it and call it a day.
I currently have a Jag and a Mustang short scale. They're both okay. I never bonded with short scale basses. Ironically they both have flats on them.I'll tell you a nice shortscale bass I had, it was the Squire Jag bass, the hardware was not the best but, overall the intonation was spot on. It was not bad.
Current bassist has the QP in his 70's Precision and it sounds killer. To the OP, a buddy of mine put Duncan QPs in a Squire and it ripped. That's his recording bass. I'd rewire it and call it a day.
I have a lot of basses. 3 really great ones. ‘74 4001, 2015 Spector Euro (Starr) and a late 90s American Deluxe J bass.I have a Ric 4003 in Fireglo, an Ibanez Ergodyne EDA900, Ibanez SRF700 4-string fretless that I call the "shitburst" due to the color, and my main bass, an Ibanez EHB1005F 5-string fretless, headless
I got back into fretless again a few years ago, only reason I have so many now, two fretless, one 4-string, one 5-string, and the two fretted 4-strings.I have a lot of basses. 3 really great ones. ‘74 4001, 2015 Spector Euro (Starr) and a late 90s American Deluxe J bass.
My Spector is essentially an NS-2. NS standing for Ned Steinberger.I got back into fretless again a few years ago, only reason I have so many now, two fretless, one 4-string, one 5-string, and the two fretted 4-strings.
I sold my original 4-string Steinberger XL2 last year, I owned it since new, early/mid '80s
