The Runt series is honestly over looked, I really like the feel they have. They also take boost pedals really well

I had the 50 twice. First go-around I didn't really "need" it, as I had a DSL50, and a Splawn Competition. 2nd go-around, I had more time with it, and it was my main amp. Great with Greenbacks, and a good boost really brings the goods. I'd own another in a heartbeat.

I picked up a JJ Jr a month or so ago and really like it. Took me a minute to gel with it due to the thickness of the tone at first. Was using primarily a DSL before I landed the JJ and I must have had that thing dialed in really bright! Now that I have it dialed in more towards my taste, it is pretty sweet.

Mine is pushing a 1960B with greenbacks. I also have a V30 loaded 1960 and a Friedman SS cab which I find to be quite a bit darker than the greenback loaded cab. But that was before I messed with the EQ more on the amp. Need to give the SS another shot.

It is louder than I thought it would be as well. That 20 watt power section pushes out some volume and girth!

Yeah, we know you have a Friedman SS cab, you bastard. The one you swiped before another Buckeye could snag it....LOL. Jk.

Hey, between the two Marshall cabs which one do you like the most? My Friedman 1x12 has a greenback. Ideally would be cool to have a cab with a mix of greenbacks and V30s. I was going to get a Friedman 4x12 but obviously an old Marshall cab would be the cheaper route. Just wondering if there is a huge difference between Marshall/Friedman cabs but seems like you would put the SS Friedman last out of those three so the Marshalls must sound pretty damn good with it.

Yeah, at first with the JJ Jr., I was automatically going to the "settings" that everyone uses with most amps. Once I dialed back the presence, it was better. I have my mid setting at 9 o'clock and treble at around 1-2 o'clock. I previously had the treble lower but now noticing it was a bit "blanket on speaker".

Great stuff, but I would never, EVER, pay those new prices. Used only.

I just managed to score a used-but-mint Butterslax at a great price, and it's basically ruined me for all other amps. Nothing else I've owned in 35 years of gear buying has even been close.

Oh yes you will. You live in Chicago and pay $30 for a hot dog. You pay it for the good tonez....

Sorry about that! Didn't know that you were looking at the SS when John had it posted. There is a white Friedman 4x12 on FB marketplace right now that is local. Actually bought my JJ from the same guy!

I like the 1960B with greenbacks. Those speakers just work for me. I do need to try the Friedman cab again now that I have tweaked the amps EQ a bit. What part of town are you in?

My old ears must be fried because I have been dialing in my amps way brighter than most it seems. I have pres and treble at 2:00 and middle and bass at about 11:00. Going to play around with that some more tonight. Had a JHS Bonsai land this week and want to see if it can help me to cut down on the TS type pedals I have stacked up.

South Carolina. The U of SC mascot is the Gamecock, which is basically a really angry rooster with spurs on his feet. (No, I have no idea why.)

Oh my friend it will definitely cut down on your TS style pedals! I love it.. I keep it on the Noble ODR1 copy setting. However that said, I still have a KOKO boost on my board, and a KLON type and another overdrive. Buying overdrives is a sickness.

I keep an original Koko on my board 100% of the time. That has been my #1 for years and nothing has come close to knocking it out of the rotation. Still hasn't stopped my from trying to knock it off the board! I have bought/sold/traded about 10 or 15 OD's in the past 6 months alone. Still have a Cusack V2 Screamer, EQD Palisades, Way Huge Camel Toe, Ibanez TS9 , and some other non TS types.

The TS9 setting on the Bonsai is very close to the TS9 I have had for a while now. On its own, I slightly prefer the actual TS9. A touch more warmth or something. In a mix, the Bonsai wins. A bit more clarity to it which puts it on top. Still need more time with it since I have only played around with it once.

LOL, oh no man I'm just messing with you.  I thought it was awesome that you got it but was laughing since all of us were in Ohio. I'm in the Dayton area. Buckeyedog lives down the road from me too. :D

I live in Bay Village. I make my way around the state in the direction of Cbus, Dayton, and Cincy a couple times a month usually.

Dropped off my #1 LP at Centerville Music over the weekend for some needed work. Stainless frets and 50's wiring. Mark Kaiser seems like a very competent tech but I am still nervous about tearing apart my #1. It needed frets though and going with jumbo stainless should keep me from having to refret it again in the future.

Buckeyedog and I have moved a little gear between us in the past. Been years though. Maybe over 10 years? Back when I lived in the area.

I grew up in North Olmsted and went to church in Westlake... too funny!

They have some nice stuff in there. They are not the typical rocker-type guitar store but they do have some good guitars, especially acoustics. I really like the Guitar Center down in Cincy. It is like night and day between that one and the Dayton store. The Cincy store is where I got my JJ Jr. I walked in one day and it was sitting there and I immediately bought it.
