i have a plush amp and it sounds just OK

i had a master volume mod done to it
but it doesn't have enough gain for my taste
it has a great clean and rhythm sounds and cleans up well when i lower the volume
i have tried using stomp boxes in front of it but i am not an overdrive pedal dude and never was and i will never be able to go that route.
as for the amp.....
it has 4 el34s and 3 12 ax7s and 2 huge trannies and a lot of tuck and roll leather!!!
the response time on this amp feels slow and i can't get it to"clack" like a real overdriven amp
can dave mod this amp and is it even worth it to bother?
the sheer volume of thhis amp is frightening and it gets better as it is turned up which leads me to believe there might be hope
what do you guys think?
can dave salvage this ugly ass beast?

Just get rid of that amp and get a stock 70's era JMP 4 input non MV type amp for Dave to mod.

I also hear the 90's Marshall reissues were a good base for modding unless Dave thinks otherwise.
