Lived there for 15 years and loved it. Had to move because of a job opportunity. I still have friends (a couple in the music industry) and family there and I live only hour and 45 away and visit often. Still...... fuck your generalization of the great people and musicians who live there.

No, I'm just good at seeing the bullshit in an industry that brings you the likes of Taylor Swift and these monkeys. Why would you defend that? I do live in Nashville and I do make a living playing guitar. A good living...we actually have positive cash flow! I've been on the bus backing Sara Evans and I hated every minute of it. Walking on eggshells and being a second class underpaid road rat is no way to live your life. Yet musicians FLOCK here to get into that after bussing tables for years. "Songwriters" FLOCK here with their horrible songs that everyone in their highschool "loved", wasting years of their lives and some spending a small fortune just to get their songs "recorded right" and heard by some rip off artist. I've got lots of stories! Not anecdotes, real stories that I saw happening to people around me. My wife is a paralegal for a law firm here that does lots of music related stuff. OMG the petty bullshit when a country star divorces or the expert wittneses that are called in to testify at a copywrite scuffle. Don't get her started on some of the judges.

No one forces you to be in an industry that you deem to be so shitty. Go get an education in something else you might enjoy and then come back here and bitch about how much that industry sucks. Wash rinse repeat. We all compromise in a creative art career to make a buck. Live with it, do somthing else or shut the fuck up. IMHO!
My two friends are hired guns and play well above they paid to play. But you know what they don't enjoy what they play over and over again but compared what it could be to make the same money they'll never blame the whole city or their pears for what they don't enjoy about their job.
