A bit tacky (and pricey) for me and I'm a fan of tacky.

I dig the tacky!!! its like a siliconed Vargas Girl brought to the 21st century. Thats Steve Stevens wife Josie BTW and thats the Steve Stevens Josie LTD if I didnt mention that before..

but I have a real hard time seeing how the price can be justified...

Again, I love tacky (neon colors, floral patterns, general Ibanez excess, etc.), but I've just never been a fan of women, boobs, or the like painted on my guitar. Different strokes for sure and this particular guitar was done somewhat tastefully, in a tacky kind of way.

Can't go wrong with boobs, can you?

Seriously t would make a really nice budget guitar. But Suhr are perfect just the way they are..

I'm a huge fan of Suhrs myself, but I've got to agree with the OP on this. I'd have to believe that they couldn't be selling too many of these.

I believe that the run is limited to 50 guitars but Im not entirely sure. Like you, I think that Suhrs are incredible instruments but the price on this is both perplexing and disappointing.

i can't stand that guitar personally ...or the price...My idea of a dream guitar is a Suhr Modern with Purple Drip finish and Maple fretboard...would be cheaper than steve's model but i still can't afford it.

Hang in there! You could probably come up with the funds one day. It doesn't take a whole lot of money to get a custom build started....and with Suhr's current waiting list, you'd probably have the rest saved up by the time it arrives at your dealer! Then again, I really don't know your financial situation.....just sayin', perhaps one day down the line you might be able to come up with the $$$. I've got one on the waiting list myself that will have the Purple Nova finish....can't wait!

I think I need to see more pictures of Steve's wife to decide whether or not I like this :D

I don't like any of the pricing on Suhr Guitars...

Well, I can see where you are coming from on a lot of the "available" guitars that are sold from dealers. But, at the same time, the pricing also reflects being able to get a custom build with whatever high quality components you wish to add to your guitar. And, his prices are right in line with TAG for instance, who builds comparable instruments. Also, some ppl have this conception that in order to purchase a custom built Suhr, that you're going to be looking at $3K+. But, one custom Modern I own, and another custom Modern that I'm having built right now were both at $2,300 each. As you probably guessed neither one has a maple top, but I was happy with the tone without having one on these particular Moderns (Alder body/maple neck.) Even then, they offer a non-figured maple top for almost nothing if you really need to have it for the tone you desire. The most expensive custom Modern I have with a basswood body, incredible quilt maple top, with a maple neck and african rosewood fingerboard came in just shy of $3K. Another misconception is that some ppl think that prices go strictly by Suhr's Price sheet on his website, but of course those are only retail prices, which a lot of dealers will come off of by 35%-45%.

Even then, I know and feel that the Suhrs I have are a bit overpriced, but what isn't when you get up to that price range. And, I love the product and the ability to have it built the way I want, so it's definitely worth it to me. Not to mention, with the price you pay, you also get Suhr's EXCELLENT customer service that will resolve any issue you have whatsoever with one of their instruments.

I like it, Looks like a 24 fret version of his old Washburn

I have a guitar worth $18,000 that I payed $400 for a long time ago. It is unusual for me to pay much more than $1000 for a guitar. I think I have never payed more than $1200 now that I think about it.
