I'm impressed with that Warmoth, and didn't even consider assembling something through them. I'm still going for the Ran Invader, but a Warmoth project guitar could be a good and educational option for late on, and sometime that sleek and plain would look great on the wall. :D

How much did the King V style body cost to get custom made?

The body shape is not shown on their website but they do make it you just have to call in and ask for it. It's been a little while but I'm thinking it was just shy of about $400.00 or so. They charged me extra for the bevels. It was two pieces of alder and it had really solid tone. I finished the body with Tru-Oil....that shit they use to refinish gun stocks.

I like Gibson Vs, they just aren't as obnoxious to me as the more extreme looking Vs IMO. I'm just not metal enough I guess haha. I've had my brother's '67 RI for a long time (he gave it to me to keep but has since done some whining about wanting it back) but I'm not giving it back unless he ever gets his shit together and gets a band going again (he has a nice SG, strat, taylor and stingray bass as is) :D. I was going to say I dunno about dumping $1000 into a faded cherry one because for some reason I've found those sound/feel cheaper to me than the black and white '67 RI ones (brother's is a black one). I was playing it last night at practice actually and while you can't really get further from the low output pickups in my strat to the ceramic 500T in the V the thing just puts a smile on your face. The frets could use some tlc and the finish isn't perfect but it sustains and screams like crazy. Fun guitars

Yeah they sure are fun guitars, and I know that they can sound awesome. Not totally satisfied with it yet tho. I got a Gibson V, and am pretty content with the EMG 81 with 18V mod which I houdinied in there. Thinking about getting the BKP Holy Diver for neck, and with that I think it'll be the sexiest thing. What do you guys think?

Build one with Warmoth. They sell the Gibby V shape and neck and you can get any body wood, controls, bridge, pickup config, etc. I built a Jackson King V through them and it was totally killer. The fact that it was a bolt on neck meant nothing as this guitar had great sustain. Got into some money issues so I had to sell it but I def regret it. Here's a pic of it and since then I bought a BC Rich Deluxe Jr V which is an awesome guitar but I'd love to build another Warmoth. If you painted the guitar yourself you could probably get all of the parts for around a grand and their stuff is top notch. The fret work on their necks is absolutely incredible. Pics of mine that I built...
