Ok, so nothing too serious, but I need some suggestions/advice... I am a little shallow on funds right now and I want to buy a MIDI pedal and new pre amp tubes for my VH4.. what would you guys suggest as a good cheap standard midi pedal? I want to stay under $200 new. All I will be using it for is channel switching, channel insert, send2 and mute activation. I was wanting to get a Ground control pro, but my current funds prohibit that ideal...

Also, for pre amp tubes, what you guys suggest? I have no ideal on how different pre amp tubes effect the tone of my VH4 so... yeah... I have had one suggestion from Ventura about which pre amps to use, but I would like to see what else you all suggest? If I could, I would go and pick up an assortment of tubes and try them, but I currently can't.

Thanks for all the help!

Midi pedals:

get a used Nobels MF-2, they're very good and work like a charm.

You can get a Roland FC pedal too

I've got a Rocktron midi mate I've had for 10+ years and love it.
It's simple to use and cheap.. I'm sure you could find a good used one for 100 bucks or less.

So turns out that I am going to be getting an Engl Z-12. I posted on the gear sales forum that I was looking for a midi mate and I was offered a near mint Engl Z-12 for $100.00 plus shipping!

Yo Braddah.... Scour the CL and ePay ads for used stomps, there'll be a mess of used MIDIs in there.

As for glass, Chinese 12AX7B or C, or Rubys, Diezel's run sweet with straight forward Chinese glass (Shuguang factory).

Peace,
Mo

Please contact me regarding tubes. I get Diezel approved tubes directly from the manufacturer and can ship to you.
