Those cabs sound awesome Chris, im positive the PM will absolutely kill through that cab!!!

You can't have a plexi style amp without a greenback cab, IMO. So heck yeah, go for it.

I have a slant version of that cab and absolutely love it. That is the right speaker for your PM. It looks to me like the cab is before 1999 - Marshall changed the serial number system to year-numbers...

If you can deal with the condition of the cab, go for it. I've seen a couple slants come up on Craigslist in Boston for about $500... I should pick up a second one...

Hey Chris, how much does the deliverance cab weigh? I should be getting my sig x very shortly...

The cab in the auction doesn't have casters, so you would have to:
a. Man up and carry the biatch.
b. Get a dolly to roll it and then put it on the stage - dammit, wheels ruin tone.
c. Get replacement casters, because that is how it is supposed to be.
or
d. F@&$ that. Find one that has the casters intact.

Yeah, I'd have to get casters from the hardware store or just do without. Always wanted to try a cab without, since it's supposed to sound quite a bit "beefier." It would be a bitch getting it in and out of the venue, though.

My one actually HAS casters, yet we always carry it!!

I'm old enough to know that (for me) wheels > tone...

:scared:

Since its a straight, you could always do casters for rolling then flip it on the side for playing...

Set it on its side...

YOU SUCK! LOL! Actually, you need to be open minded about VHT stuff. You had that 50CL and didn't like it, but you shouldn't judge all of their amps by that one. I bet you a million bucks you'd like a 50CL if you got a chance to hear one again. They're not THAT different than Marshall and the cheapest VHT blows that DSL401 you got out of the water no matter what. :)

Same goes for the Edwards guitars. You may not have liked the ONE you had, but dude, they're killer guitars. Don't judge the entire line by one guitar (or amp.)

And the D412 ROCKS!

Chris

I will take that bet. Shall I PM you my address so you can send me my 1 million dollars? :D

I had an Edwards V that was killer, but the LP I had was god awful. When you get a nice one they're cool, when you don't they're really bad. Inconsistent quality, but that's to be expected for how much they are.

EDIT: I had a VHT cab too. Worst cab I've ever played. :D

Well, it sounds like crap to me because I absolutely can't stand the voicing. Same goes for the P50 speakers they use in their cabs. They're love or hate amps and I definitely don't love them.

I'm sure if I played a V30 loaded VHT cab it would sound great though, just gotta get rid of those P50's.
