I was thinking of going to a Guitar Kenter today

First strings
Then a few overdrive pedals
Then worry about a guitar

Maybe try out a blue note pro since rig talk is making you like more gain
If I do things the rig-talk way I buy like a dozen high dollar boutique amps before I get a guitar.

Well it was a fun trip. I tried a few semi hollows, mostly a bunch of dead ass sounding overpriced junk but I fell in love with a very alive cherry red 335. $3500!!! Not sure how to afford that but dammit son I can't get her outta my head....

I tried a Les Paul Supreme, not sure what the deal was, it was thicker than a regular LP. Like a fat LP. Nice, but wasn't a cherry 335....

I tried a bunch of used PRS'. Maybe I should've worn tan pants. A couple of them were nice but I was surprised how thin the solid bodies were. Ain't no way I'm paying 4g's used for a thin PRS with a blushed out finish. It sounded real nice but one of the used cheaper ones that looked like a fruit roll up was pretty equivalent sounding tbh.

The acoustic room smells wonderful.
The bathrooms are gross
Hopefully there won’t be an unattended child in the drum or keyboard room
You will probably leave with a pack of strings
The bathroom at my local GC is awesome. I poop there all the time.

When I worked at Guitar Center, a triburst Supreme was my fav guitar there. It is thicker because it has a carved flamed maple back as well as top. Plus I dig the mop Earth inlay on the headstock.

Is it hollow inside? It didn't feel substantially heavier than any other LP I've handled. Some of the 70's LPC's I laid hands on were boat anchors. It was a pretty sweet axe but that 335 is stuck in my head right now.

Here you go... Neo-Soul starter
I played a couple older used Custom 22's I think they were. Really really nice, good tone and sustain through a Vox Ac10 but man, I was kinda disappointed by how thin those bodies are. I was thinking they would be close to Les Paul thickness. For $4k they are gonna have to provide more wood than that. I tried a cheaper SE sapphire fade and tbh it was probably 97% of what either of those high dollar guitars were. Super nice axe, I actually might consider one of those sometime. I really do like the wide-thin neck profile, with a little better setup it would really smoke. $700 used.

I also played a PRS like @JackBootedThug got except it was brown. It was nice but it had a piezo jack and a mini switch and I couldn't figure out how the knobs worked but at least it had a thicker body.

These were all the first PRS I laid hands on in my life. I tried one of the doghairs, that was actually a pretty sweet axe with blade pickups, but some foo' had adjust the bridge pup to close to the high E. Didn't really care for the axe overall but I could see how a tele guy might love one. But that 335 man, missing out on that is gonna haunt me until I can go on a fire mission to find one that sings as sweet as she did.
