Made the mistake of playing a Tom Anderson…

I can certainly see why - but you need to check out a Neville Guitars….that dude is next level and his customs are under 3k

Yeah. TAs are the most well-made feeling guitars I've played, but the reason I sold three of mine is because my Suhrs and Rangkas (local custom) just sounded better to me.

My Rangka (pfp) had more or less the same specs as the TA I ordered and it was more lively unplugged and plugged in. And it was, like, half the price. Somebody was also selling this old Suhr Standard that was beat up but sounded better than most other superstrats I've played, so I sold the TA and got the Suhr and a few more guitars lol.

TA remains one of the best companies I've ever had the chance to contact, and their guitars are still hands down the most well-made feeling ones I've ever played.

Beautiful Axe and that top, finish, and the back! Wow! One of the coolest looking Superstrats I've ever seen! Is that a Gotoh 510 trem? If so they are my favorite non locking trem.
I don’t think it’s a Gotoh, but it feels similar to their vintage tremolo.

Tom Andersons are the best playing guitars I've played.
I love my buddy's Strat Icon.
I'd love to spec my own. But the $!
I have a CS Fender Tele that is on par. But so was the cost.

This is my #1 btw :) It’s just phenomenal!

Not really that expensive when you consider each one is custom. They don’t make production guitars.

I love Anderson guitars and the company. I had the unique experience of playing my Anderson guitar at a bar gig and noticing that Tom Anderson, the actual guy was in the audience. A mutual friend had invited him to hear us.

A few weeks later Tom hired us to play at the Anderson Guitars company's 40th Anniversary party last summer. I got Tom to sign my guitar.

Here is my 1996 Classic.

I don’t disagree, but Jeff Neville builds custom guitars too for about half the price.
I don’t know who that is. I toured the Anderson factory a couple years ago. What a great operation they run with a more than solid team. I was so impressed I now own 3 of them.

He’s a small builder up in Michigan - builds about 40 a year.

Congratulations, Keith!! I was bitten by the Anderson bug back in 2009. I have five and will get another next year. My wife promised me a trip to LA next summer and she wants to do a tour of their shop and spec out my next guitar. I can't wait!

Badass wife you got there! What five do you have? And what would you say the differences are, tonally?

Wow - this thing is impressive! My local Guitar Center had a used Drop Top in stock, and after jamming on it for 30mins I couldn’t stop thinking about it two days later.

Went back, brought my #1 (Neville Custom Shop T), and it compared pretty favorably :) Sounded more modern, and single notes were oddly addictive feeling. Cleans were fantastic! This is the first guitar I’ve played, since I started having Jeff Neville build me custom T-style guitars, that can hang.

I’ve been sleeping on this brand way too long, apparently.
